I am massage therapist and though every therapist may have a different style and people have different needs, i been here several times and it deserves 5 stars because of several factors: 1) how quickly they can get you in, typically same day which is rare! 2) the quality of pressure and thoroughness to every part of the body which I believe most people need but they don't realize it 3) they work very hard and are well versed in finding body tension despite the language barrier 4) their prices are unbeatably fair. Massaging is VERY intense labor and hard work, and this business deserves every penny they charge. I'm so happy they survived Covid when so many spa's did not. The therapists deserve AT LEAST 20% tip but for the low charge, I would recommend 30%. I LOVED jack's massage, but he's currently not in town. Lucy was lovely as well. Both for massage. I've loved the reflexology appointments I've had as well, and though it's a mixed bag of what you might receive, I very much appreciate each individual style. The eastern emphasis is on a lot of compression, not very swedish and flowing. So people coming in should have an open mind to how different muscles respond to different techniques. I am very impressed with how Tao Spa runs their business and I'm happy to support them...
Read moreThis was my second time coming to this spa and I remembered why I don’t come back more often. The employees make you feel very very uncomfortable. I went with my boyfriend, and their is a very big language barrier. It’s hard explain what you want because they don’t speak much English. The petite lady that worked on my boyfriend kept saying things like “you have a good body” and “baby”. It was really strange and uncomfortable. They give you a very very thin and small towel to cover up, and they honestly just “rub” your back, nothing special. They charge $59 for an hour. The old sports massage therapists I went to was $75 for an hour, so not that much of a difference for something professional. At the end I paid for both my boyfriend and I. I tipped around 12% of the total, and the lady was saying little things and making movements saying I needed to tip more. Tips are not required, and honestly her doing that made me want to take away the tip. It’s a shame. Long story short, it’s ehhh. If you are wanting a professional massage where they actually tell you what they are doing, work on the specific areas requested, and is a very comfortable and clean space, I would recommend pay the...
Read moreUpdate: I visit SLC every summer, and I always make time to stop by this place — it’s a must! The team is always helpful, friendly, and they do their best to fit me in, even on short notice.
This time, a kind gentleman named Andi took care of me and did an amazing job, especially on my neck and shoulders (which I really needed). The massage oil smelled great, and as always, the music was calming and lovely.
They had to move my appointment slightly later, but they made up for it by sending me a $10 off coupon — great customer service! The space is clean and cozy. While there are chairs side-by-side, I usually opt for a private room, which I really appreciate.
Last year, I came in right at closing time and had a wonderful woman who also worked out all the tension in my shoulders. The prices are super reasonable, and I always leave feeling better than when I arrived.
Thank you so much — this was...
