I grew up across the street from Hollenbeck Park. I've seen this park renovated a few times. The newest renovation is nice. My kids like it. I really love that they have put in a lot of beneficial native plants. There are areas of the grass that get marsh like. Tread carefully, its nasty muddy in mid-summer. They, like many other parks didn't care to put in any shade sails over the playground area, and removed 2 of the shadiest trees. Where shade can be found now, is in an area where the irrigation system is possibly leaking or something. The ground is sopping wet, super squishy, and muddy. I'd love to give my childhood park a 5 star rating, but after all that renovation, they didn't even budget in the restrooms. The bathrooms are so gross. They are practically falling apart. The city spent all that money to renovate and didn't care to address the bathrooms. They've been like this for years! This is ridiculous. Who was in charge of this budget? 🙄

Amazing coaching staff for the kids sports. Very patient and willing to work with all types of kids. The park is clean and feels very safe. Large soccer field and a big playground as well. There are lights on the soccer field as well as the baseball diamond. Police patrol the area regularly to make the public feel extra safe. Not the most amazing park in the world but overall a 5 star experience due to the overall atmosphere.

Nice park. They just installed new play ground equipment a walk path upgraded the sprinkler system and planted some trees and shrubbery. The only reason it's not 5 stars is it's very busy during baseball games

It was a very nice but dirty park back in 2009 when I was growing up but it was just recently redone so everything is nice and clean. They added a path for people to walk or run on, there's clean benches to eat lunch on, there's also some workout equipment. The parks never have genuine work out equipment but I see it being pretty useful for the kids or elderly. But the kids have no interest in it so whatever.. ALSO they have a badminton court (or tennis) I've watched a few games while I was there it's really fun i recommend bringing your own stuff cause i don't think they plan on sharing a racket lol. Lastly if you're hungry and the baseball park happens to be open during the summer they have a snack bar with some...
