They renovated a lot (not all) of the auditoriums and you can tell. Even the smaller auditoriums have new seating. Drastic improvement. Thia theater shows a lot more indie/limited release movies than most other AMC's. Spanish subtitled version for most new releases. The theater itself just isn't very robust. It's pretty much always dead, even on Fridays. It's my closest theater but I don't go as often as before, regularly opting for Look Cinemas in Monrovia or AMC Santa Anita. This location desperately needs a Dolby auditorium if they want to increase traffic. AMC Glendora and Santa Anita both have one and Edwards West Covina recently converted a lot of their auditoriums to reclining seats. Obviously Look Cinema in Monrovia has nothing but reclining seats. I personally don't care that much about reclining seats but I understand that most people do .
I love the huge IMAX auditorium. Incredible viewing experience when it's the right movie. I just wish more movies actually had a decent crowd. It's so big that when there's a small crowd, it's just depressing. I don't like watching movies in a dead theater.
It's not a problem that happens often but when there's a busy day, there needs to be someone solely there to scan in online tickets. It's absolutely ridiculous that people who pay the convenience fee for an online ticket need to wait in line. It's inexcusable that there's no clear signage for people with online tickets to get a separate line (when it's busy). There also has to be more effort into making A-List members a priority in the concessions line. The non-members concessions line regularly moves faster than the A-List line. I understand the non-members line is usually longer and they want to move it along but part of paying for the A-List is that you get PRIORITY CONCESSIONS. Sometimes I'll just stand in the non-member line because I know it'll go faster. Whatever system they have in place isn't working. This doesn't apply to most of my visits (because the theater is usually dead) but it's frustrating when it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family of three came here to see a movie last evening. Next to us there was a family of 5 seated. The mother had her feet up on the backs of chairs in front of her. They brought an infant baby to the loud Spider-Man movie. They were talking among themselves throughout the movie. Kids were standing up, walking and talking throughout the movie. At some point the father had an ingenious idea to occupy one of the kids with a phone. Besides disturbing other patrons behind them with the light from the screen, the kid turned up the sound of whatever video she was watching.
Our tickets were right next to this family but we moved one space over to leave an empty seat between us, and they very considerately plopped one of their kids there. The girl was not interested in the movie and constantly talked and moved and bumped into my wife. A few people tried to shush them, but they didnāt care. Obviously no masks on any of them. No one else in the theater acted like them. These people made our experience unpleasant. Ushers do not monitor auditoriums so no one stopped them either.
Food court has employees but no enticing food. The popcorn was not being popped and the one they had was impossible to tell how long itās been sitting there. They were out of nachos at the 5 pm show.
As we were walking out one of the employees was swinging the broom in the air in a circular motion as he was walking. That looked unprofessional, spread dirt from the broom everywhere, and could injure someone who got too close to him or if he lost control of the broom.
Bathroom had no dividers between urinals and someone made a bright decision to pair tops of urinals. Of course the paint is peeling.
Employees and patrons do not follow rules, common sense, or common courtesy, so the experience sucked and we decided to not go to this AMC anymore.
On the positive side seats were...
