Evive Cranford Spa — Attraction in Cranford

My husband and I were looking forward to our overall experience at Evive Spa. I wanted to try something new and give my husband for his birthday a different type of massage experience. We enjoyed our massage, the massage therapists were overall good, but we were disappointed when we were expecting to go into the salt cave experience room afterwards for an additional service. It’s under construction. Now, it’s hard enough for my husband and I to have our dates due to work schedules and childcare like other couples, so we were very much looking to this extended time. Not only is it not publicized on their website, but no one called to inform me of this change before our appointment. I would have gratefully appreciated to have been aware of this before our arrival time for many reasons. One of the reasons, I booked this spa was to experience the salt cave room. We left, extremely disappointed. Not sure of how long the construction is going on, but be aware if you are planning to visit this spa and have salt cave experience booked. Overall service rate would be a 4, but lower rate due to communication from staff...

I booked a Swedish massage (according to the description provided online) with essential oil. The nice woman at the front desk greeted me and brought me into the therapy room (I prefer when the therapist brings me into room so I can see and meet him/her before the massage). The therapist, Amy, came in and began the massage. She asked if I wanted essential oil for an extra charge, which was confusing, since that’s what I had booked. The massage didn’t seem very “gentle,” which is how it was described. Amy kept telling me that I am tight and have lots of knots and proceeded to work on “problem areas” to improve circulation. She placed hot stones on my back, which I assumed was a bonus (since I didn’t ask for it); but when I went to pay, the front staff charged me $10 for the hot stones. I told her I didn’t even ask for that but I’d pay for it anyway. The therapist came out and said the hot stone was $15, not $10. So I gave another $5. You expect to receive the service you booked/requested. Changing the service based on what the therapist wanted to do is not...

I found this place through Groupon and decided to give it a try after reading the positive reviews—and I’m so glad I did! My partner and I were warmly greeted by Cathy, who was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful.

My massage was performed by Helen, and it was hands down the best massage I’ve ever had. She was incredibly thorough, with amazing hand strength, and managed to relieve pain I’d been dealing with for weeks. I came in stiff and full of knots, but she loosened all my muscles and left me feeling completely renewed.

My partner, who is usually very particular, was also extremely satisfied with their massage and said the same thing—it was excellent(LiLi was the name of her person). I really appreciated the communication throughout the session; they checked in to make sure the pressure was right and were attentive to any areas I wanted them to focus on.

I can’t wait to come back! I now see how valuable regular massages are, and I honestly feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my body. Highly recommend this place to anyone...
