Just returned from the Historic Park Theatre where we were supposed to see Majesty, a Queen Tribute. What was intended to be a date night of fun and great music was quickly derailed upon arrival. Fortunately, we only live minutes away. We arrived when we were told the doors opened to find little activity outside or in. Going inside, we were told that the show had been "postponed" ... until September 2023. To add insult to injury, we were told that our only options were a credit toward another show or a ticket for the September 2023 show. It was explained to us that the band had issues with their visas and they had emailed people of the cancellation that they apparently knew about on Wednesday. They said they placed information on Instagram as well. What they failed to do is place any information on their website pertaining to the cancellation or place any notification of such cancellation on the windows of the theatre. These actions are tantamount to good customer relations but they failed miserably at this tasks. A lady in line said that she order a ticket on their website that day! If this is true, why was she able to order a ticket on Friday for a show that was cancelled on Wednesday? Failures all around. The staff tried to quell the customers as they stood in line for their credit/re-schedule ticket but had no real answers for what went wrong. We will definitely be calling the night before and of the show we decided to put our credit towards to ensure it is still going to be held. I certaining hope they get their "stuff" together or they will have to close...
Read moreGlad they brought back the theatre!! Owner is awesome and kind but seems like he’s struggling. Was gonna attend the Def Leppard tribute show for my sons birthday but they cancelled it not even a week after announcing it!! They bring a couple good bands every now and then but they should get better tribute bands or even real bands!! If you cannot tell, Ed is trying to copy the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket. Stadium is bringing famous artists like Howie Mandel (Comedian), Christopher Cross (Music Artist), and Ace Frehley (Guitar Player from KISS). Stadium also brings great tribute bands like Draw The Line (Aerosmith), 1964 (Beatles), Leo Days (Elvis), & Stayin Alive (Bee Gees). If the park theatre did get an Aerosmith tribute, I would still go no matter how good they are though. Oh and before I go, the prices are ridiculous! Over $50 to see a KISS tribute band in front row and get a picture with them. I saw a KISS tribute a couple of weeks ago for $16 with a Poison tribute and you got to stand in front whenever you wanted since there was a dance floor. And on top of that, I got to get a drumstick, pictures by every member of both bands, a poster, a skull bracelet the Peter Criss guy has had since he was a kid and a guitar pick. Bring better bands, bring better prices, don’t cancel shows and I will attend a show. Also, the theatre made my friends son (who is in 9th grade) serve beer and get...
Read moreThis vintage vaudeville era theater underwent a restoration a few years back. It has been operating as a second run movie theater for decades when it fell into dis-repair as vcr's and digital media became prevalent. Fast forward to the New Millennium and the entire building has been restored, revamped and repurposed! It tastefully refinished with classical highlights and modern tech. There are several bar stations and it attached to a great comedy club and restaurant/lounge. The restrooms are modern, the a/c is great, the food doesn't suck and they have acts that you really want to see. From the stage rendition of A Bronx Tale to the Cowsills, Billy Gillman, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy even the Nutcracker. The Young Leadership Conference had an event here. John Perotta brings his comedy troupe to regular performances. They even host CES pro boxing and CES MMA fights on a regular basis. I recently saw Roberto Duran Jr fight here and it was a DAMN GOOD fight! (Roberto won btw). Whatever your taste this venue will probably have something to suit it. Take the time to browse their insta or FB pages and you will not be...
