This is a great place for kids of varied ages to play. There is a large section with lots of stuff for kids under 5. There is also a seperate large area probably best suited for kids 5 to 10. There were some high tech activities like a projector screen with a game on it, that kids interact with by throwing balls at it, kind of like a touch screen. Three levels of obstacles for kids to climb and run through with a big slide. I have been to all of the area kids indoor places and this was the best by far. Clean and well staffed. The only concern I had was an exit behind the play area by the game projector area. As the exit is in an area you can't immediately see, it made me a bit nervous with kids running around as you often can't see them when they are in the maze. I hope there is an alarm of some sort if this door is used. A sign on this door saying as such by management would provide some peace of mind.
Epilogue: I am adding onto my review. It's been a few weeks and my review more or less stands. The place is great and has become very popular. Parking and crowds are a little problematic at times, but those are issues that come with being a fun and popular location.
I do want to highlight that there are 0-2, 3-7, and something and above areas. The staff tries their best to keep older kids out of the 0-2 areas. They would make repeated general announcements to ask older kids to leave this area. I think this is great as younger kids were getting bulldozed there. On the same note though, there were extremely young toddlers in the older kids area in narrow walkways, with parents getting very upset when the older kids wanted to rush past and go play. I think the areas are designed as they are with purpose and everyone will be happiest if they are used...
Read moreThe facility itself is amazing-the kids had an awesome time! Place is spotless clean, including bathrooms. It's HUGE so you gotta work hard to keep your eye on your kid(s) especially if you have more than 2. I think the best ages for this place is 2-10 (although they allow 0-13). Parents can accompany children through each section so that's nice. Parents are Also free with purchase of a child. it's very loud and PACKED. For children with sensory issues like loud noises And crowds, it might be too much for them. But for kids that enjoy being social and running around like crazy - they will LOVE it. The front desk was also very accommodating and they sure looked like they were working hard in a very tough job. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the woman on the phone was awful! Couldn't understand her, and refused to let us pay over the phone. I had family coming from 4 different counties for my son's birthday. A family member got there before I did and ended up having to pay- he should never have had to do that! If we could have paid ahead of time it would never have been an issue, but my family member and his 2 year old had to Wait forever for us to figure out the payment issue and then he ended up just paying to get it over with. The woman on the phone made it a huge issue. When I called the night before, I spoke to a man on the phone who was super nice and said this would not be a problem. Well it was a problem the day of the birthday - super annoying. but the kids had fun and front desk did help us straighten things out. The place would be perfect if it were under better...
Read morePOOR CLEANLINESS. HEALTH RISK. This was our second time visiting Hyper Kidz and came from southern Maryland (1.5hrs) since southern Maryland doesn't offer much for things like this to do with kids. Yesterday we visited and made a day trip with our 3YO daughter. We always pack water from home, but our daughter was thirsty and the water fountains were right there. It wasn't until about 30 seconds of her drinking from the fountain that I noticed the collection of dark mold all around the spicket where the water passes through for consumption. The other fountain next to it had pink mold around that one. It is evident they do not clean these at all or as frequently which is crazy considering the amount of children that passes through in there and use these. I mentioned this to the front desk and they offered a free water bottle and notified another employee. It looked like the employee they notified went into a closet and I assumed there were going to take care of that right away and clean it. Wrong- instead she came out and decided cleaning the front door glass was more important. I watched for a while and no-one came to clean fountains. Guess they're okay with children drinking from their molded fountains. Following this, my daughter began to complain of stomach pain and has been coughing and sneezing. Coincidence, maybe but she was symptom free before she arrived. Bottom line- the place lacks cleanliness and I see there's been other complaints regarding cleanliness. I hope they take their cleaning practices more seriously in the future. Fun place, but they need...
