On Saturday evening, I decided to take a trip to Red Robin. When I stepped into the building, I see it was somewhat crowded in the front of the host. So, my waiting time was 30 minutes for a table which is fine. Instead of giving me a diner table which I ask before, I was seated at the bar tables.
I was seating maybe about 5 minutes and no server haven't check on me to see if I placed an order. 2 minutes later, a couple sat next to my table; about 2 or 3 mintues later, a server assisted them before me. So, I yelled out "Hey, I didn't get any service while I been here!" So, he came to my table and take my order. One of my drinks which is water, take about 5 minutes after my order. Then, my other drink which is milkshake took 4 or 5 minutes after my water arrived. When my food finally showed after waiting nearly 35 to 40 minutes, the cook mess up order. I know the cook mess up because I literally saw the server wrote down every detail for my order unless he mess it up himself. Between 10 - 15 minutes, my food showed up again and mess up again. I asked one of the server, can I go to the kitchen to tell the cook what should be on my burger which I did and made it right. I carried my food from the kitchen to my table. At the point, I loss my appetite but still managed to finished it.
I asked the bartender for my bill since their kiosk machine doesn't work. I literally waited near 5 minutes for my bill which she can clearly print out receipt within 20 seconds. Instead, she just made drinks and told the other server who was serving me to handed my bill even though she assisted 2 tables out of 6 tables by the bar. My paid the bill and didn't get my proper change. So, I asked to server need my right change and him handed my change.
In summary, the host pretty much seated whoever showed up after estimate time which cause the kitchen get slammed making the cook having tough time getting orders right that made my food wrong twice. The servers never check on any customers who wanted just a decent meal and time to eat this establish restaurant which went horrible and waste of my time just eat a burger with fries, water and a milkshake.
I would recommend anyone to never go to this location. Their service is trash. You may get your food before your drink and the servers don't give a...
Read moreI wanted to ensure I understood the parameters of their kiosk system before I wrote a review. The place is alright, and the servers are polite enough when you see them. However, you don't see them very often.
I thought that maybe there was some way to get attention for free refills on your drinks and sides on the kiosk. However, there is not. One can only get things that you have to pay for on the kiosks. The servers are not checking on tables enough for us not to be able to ask for refills on sodas through the system. The restaurant advertises that one can get free refills on fries, but I am starting to wonder if management doesn't want the servers around so it is difficult to ask about the free sides. I don't want the sides, very often, but I usually would like one refill on my beverage (sometimes 2).
Our waitress tonight did not write down our order and subsequently forgot a couple of things. She came to ask us if she had remembered the order right, and she remembered the items. Luckily I mention my special preference. However my husband did not, and as a consequence he had to scrape mayo off of his burger. It's a cool trick to remember everyone's order without writing it down, and probably saves more money. Unfortunately you have to remember everyone's order.
The kiosk itself is annoying.
-It keeps advertising games at my child, which I would have to pay for. I can't counter with 'why don't we play with your tablet, because judging by the drop in cell reception it seems like there is a faraday cage.
-There aren't clear instructions on the use of the kiosk anywhere. It almost charged me $5.00 to make a donation to something, and no one could explain why. It was a process to remove the charge.
-It has some digital dial for tipping that is unwieldy and swings wildly, making it easy to tip 0% and 25% but hard to make it stop anywhere that isn't the very most extreme. Just let me type in my tip.
I honestly thought it was audacious for a burger place to set up shop right next door, but I will give them a try next time. It smells super good in that...
Read moreI dined here with my in-laws this past week, and it was by far one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. Honestly, the only positive part of our time there was our interaction with the food runners and the other waiter that did our server’s job for her.
Upon ordering (with a straightforward request, mind you), our waitress was clearly frustrated and informed my in-laws (lifelong vegetarians) that the kitchen “could not” make a grilled cheese sandwich. They dine there fairly often with zero issues and attitude from the servers or kitchen. The waitress refused to inquire with the kitchen about it and took the rest of our order. Dissatisfied, I approached the waitress (found at the host stand on her cell phone, hanging out with her co-workers), and I asked her if she could check with the kitchen because it’s never been an issue in the past, and they have dietary preferences. I then return to the table and wait for the waitress. A few minutes later, she returns from the kitchen and explains how the “chef” will accommodate our request “just this once.” It’s a grilled cheese sandwich: burger bun and cheese tossed on a grill. What was the issue? She proceeded to be rude to my mother-in-law, husband, and me when we just asked for them to make it. She mouthed off to me, “well, my manager is in the kitchen, and he’s not doing it!” and then stormed back to the kitchen. A manager did not check on our table; our drinks and fries took forever to get refilled (by a different waiter since ours barely lifted a finger).
As someone with a decade of hospitality management experience, your restaurant needs to be more mindful of how employees’ attitudes reflect the business and morale. Treating paying patrons with such disrespect is both disgusting and appalling. For a $160.00 meal with horrible service, she’s lucky she received a tip.
It’s my hope you do better...
