DO NOT COME HERE EMPLOYEES ARE RACIST
Since I worked down the street, I was a frequent customer at this store. Before work I would come in and pick up a few products but recent visits has caused me to no longer come here.
On my last visit I was followed around by the store manager and glared at by all employees until I walked out. This was not the first time, an employee once followed me into the bathroom and pretended to use the toilet just to make sure I wasn’t doing anything.
Now I understand that this location has theft issues, but I wouldn’t think that they would start targeting frequent customers. I did some research on yelp and asked several of my friends about their own experiences. What I found out is that the employees only target and accuse dark skinned people of theft. It doesn’t matter if you’re a frequent customer, they will still accuse you for stealing if you are dark skinned.
I’ve messaged several women on yelp who have gone through a similar or worse experience. They’ve all told me that they tried contacting upper management, called customer service and Ulta did NOTHING.
Besides this stores unsound business practice of racial profiling, their customer service overall is disgraceful. Every time I’ve walked in most employees are either talking to each other, looking in the mirror or using the makeup on display for themselves. Then when you approach them for help they are rude and know absolutely nothing about the products they sell.
The staff here are vapid narcissists and I will not associate myself with a store that promotes such...
Read moreUnhappy with my experience at the salon. I booked with an Elite stylist and apparently I picked the signature haircut which comes with the deep conditioning. I didn't remember what I booked, but the stylist had her assistant wash my hair. The assistant asked did I book the one with the deep condition, but I didn't think I did (I found out at the end I did and I paid for it because I dislike having to go back and forth with anyone). The elite stylist cut my hair really quickly and just sent me to her assistant to dry and style my hair again.
Overall I picked the elite stylist because I wanted her to do my hair, but her assistant did pretty much everything except the cut. Right after the cut the assistant styled so the main stylist I booked didn't even check the cut. I asked for some beach waves and the assistant did a good job, my tip was for her. At the end the elite stylist did more cutting, but with curls she was just winging it. I ended up washing and straightening my hair and it's soo choppy and uneven. For a hundred bucks I am very disappointed and I'd never come back. I think the elite stylist overbooks and can't keep up with her work. I kept hearing her say how many clients she had and that didn't make the experience feel like it was worth it being so rushed. I need to go find someone else to fix the uneven edges. I think it's unacceptable work by her and she needs to stop overbooking because the quality is not there. Everyone else at the store is friendly, this is just...
Read moreI needed a shower cap and got one, although the shower cap made by Drybar was on the expensive side in my opinion ($16 + tax if I remember correctly). After my brother and I walked around the store to find the shower caps to no avail, we ended up asking an employee where they were, and I apologized because she was technically off the clock. She kindly helped us anyway!
The employee showed us the only shower cap she knew they had, and my brother grabbed it for me with no hesitation. He ended up getting one other thing before we checked out. It didn't take very long to get through the short line. The cashier gave us a free gift as a perk for the purchase, and mentioned that Drybar was having an event there the next day where I could get my hair done for free!
I signed up, but only after talking to a Drybar representative about their experience with African American hair. She said the Drybar products worked with all hair types. Well, I ended up canceling the appointment because although the products may work with all hair types, not all hands are gifted with African American hair and I didn't want to walk out of the appointment upset. Better safe than sorry!
I still use the shower cap regularly, so...
