I live close to the library and several years ago I would walk down there all the time to visit it. Now I drive but before I go I usually visit their website to see if they have what I am looking for and if they don't, their associated websites (SearchOhio and OhioLINK) might have them and those libraries will send the book off to CFO library. Recently I just asked for some books using OhioLINK and when CFO library received them, they sent me an email letting me know that fact. When I got to the library, the books were not out on their special shelf yet so the lady popped on the computer to confirm they came and another librarian looked at it and confirmed my books were in the back behind the check-out desk. So they went and got them for me and now I have those books out for 3 weeks. This process can also be called interlibrary loan. On their website while using my account, I can keep track of how long I have to books for and requesting more books and if there are any fines or not. Some of the areas (such as the Children's area) over the years have changed and sometimes change takes a while to get used to but all in all things I am used to including the fun Friends of the Library sale are still around...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have lived in Cuyahoga Falls for the last 5 years and have been a regular visitor of the Cuyahoga Falls Public Library during this time. I have always felt welcomed, have found many great graphic novels in their collection, as well as many great CDs, also. I have been to a few of their cultural events and have found them to be quite interesting and entertaining, as well. I once, upon hearing that their funding was to potentially by cut, as of a few years ago, wrote to my government representative in defense of the library, its cultural, and intellectual value in regards to my hopes that their funding would not be cut.
I enjoy and appreciate the library, the services it offers, and the cultural and intellectual...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I returned a defective DVD. I was not responsible for the damage. I called the library last night to inform them that the DVD would not load. The woman who waited on me neither cursed nor yelled. But it was evident from the look on her face and the tone of her voice that I had been judged guilty, indeed a liar. I am a life long lover of books. I consider a community library of supreme importance. I was not happy to leave the library feeling like a naughty, chastised 4 year old. I am a teacher. My husband is a minister. We would not damage anything. Please don't automatically assume that the damage was done by the last person who checked out the item. Unfortunately, the library employee who checked out the DVD failed to do her job appropriately by not checking for damage prior to...
