ME (pronounced "Em-me") is the human you want to see for prenatal massage. Five reasons (in no particular order): 1) her caution/safety/care 2) unwavering respect for your time 3) um it feels amazing 4) her communication 5) general goodness.
Let me elaborate.
Caution/safety/care - my baby is due on 12/12/2020, so I've been seeing ME for a few months now. This means that I've been visiting her amid this pandemic, which has been a fearful time for all of us child-bearing women. With her, I have zero concerns about whether her establishment is a place where I'd be vulnerable to contracting any virus or infection, let alone COVID-19. First, everyone is required to wash hands for 20 seconds in a bathroom that's outside of her massage room. Second, all shoes must be removed before entering the room. Third, both you and ME are required to wear masks. Fourth, she sanitizes EVERYTHING after each session. It's spotless in her room. It feels like you're the first to touch anything in her room. It's really important that I say you don't feel like her cleanliness is overbearing. She is disarming and warm, and her level of caution is communicated with both confidence and compassion. It's the first step to feeling totally at ease and relaxed in her care.
Respect for time - okay, how many times have you gotten a massage and been robbed a few minutes? She is maniacal about keeping her hands on you the full X minutes of your massage. It's amazing.
Her hands/um it feels amazing - you will wish you had ME to tuck you into bed each night. To no avail, I've tried so many times to show my husband how to position me the way ME does as being on her massage table is the most relaxed and comfortable I've been this entire pregnancy. She understands the body so well--she understands it academically and intuitively. From how to position to how to relax muscles and kneed through them....sooooo good guys. So good.
Her communication. She is incredible accessible and warm via text! She's responsive/prompt, follows up after appointments with stretch cards (woah!)...this is key for busy, pregnant mommas always managing a schedule.
General goodness - ME is good people, you'll see it for yourself. She cares so deeply about you, motherhood, your baby, etc. She has a strength that's also empowering.
You can trust ME to take care of you.
To partners reviewing and considering gifting ME to your child-bearing partner, I have to share that I'm not easy to shop for...my husband gave me a package for my bday, and he LOVES to be thanked with overwhelming fanfare each month I come home after seeing ME....
Read moreI rarely write reviews but ME is AMAZING and deserves all the praise in the world. I found her through an internet search and thanking my lucky stars that I found her! She made booking (via texting) so easy and was so patient in trying to find a date and time to fit my busy schedule. Upon arriving, she makes you feel right at home and explains in detail about the amazing massage you are about to experience which puts your mind at ease and allows to enjoy the entire session from start to finish. Never did I feel rushed or that I was putting her out. She really makes you feel like every second that you are there with her is all about you and your baby's well being. I have had many massages at all different places from high end resorts to places with monthly contracts. I have to tell you, I have never left a massage feeling like a whole new person before like I did with her! I am 36 weeks pregnant and was not able to lift my left leg very high due to intense pain which made putting socks on and getting dressed difficult. I thought it must be the baby sitting on a nerve wrong or just all the extra weight I packed on. ME found those tense spots and massaged them out and I immediately have had no pain in the area since! That's not to mention that she made all my aches and pains on the rest of my body go away too! I literally left feeling almost back to my old self pre pregnancy and that is a miracle in itself. I have had almost monthly prenatal massages up to this point and never did they make me feel this good. I so wished I found ME sooner but I am hoping to get the word out so that other expectant Mamas can also experience this pure bliss. The good news is that she also does post partum massages so I plan to come back...
Read moreDuring my pregnancy, I experienced frequent headaches due to stress. My Dr suggested pregnancy massage, so I researched and tried three locations including Body Balance. I specifically wanted to go to a location that specialized in pregnancy massage. I ultimately chose Body Balance due to ME's style of massage, the care she displays in her practice, and the studio location. She allots time to thoroughly discuss conditions and concerns prior to the massages and plans her appts to include this, so that it does not cut into the massage time (she is adamant about giving the full time on the table). Afterwards, she discusses things she noticed while giving the massage, such as abnormalities, changes, and after care suggestions. She has even provided me with Yoga positions I can do. I never feel rushed, and do not walk out as her next customer is walking in. The entire experience is seamless and relaxed. Also, she does not use one of those awkward pregnancy molds where you lay face down with your belly and breasts in the hollowed out spaces. Another business I tried used this type of "pillow" and I almost fainted! Instead, ME has pregnant clients lay on their side while she strategically places pillows under legs and arms in order to administer massage. Her knowledge of the body and expertise in massage is clear. Her passion and warmth is comforting. Even after I had my baby, I plan to get massages from her regularly. I highly recommend her for expecting mammas looking for a therapist who specializes in pregnancy massages, or for people looking for a good baby...
