Jacksons Home & Garden — Attraction in Dallas

Very nice store with good selection of quality products. However, I ordered.~$10K of patio furniture in early November. They checked the manufacturer’s inventory (and showed me the inventory report) and told me that I could expect shipment the first week of December, with no problem receiving the furniture before Christmas. I paid and went on my way.

One week later, They sent me an email saying that my updated ship date was mid-February of 2024, a 2.5 month delay. When I called, they said they were going to do some follow-up to sort out the confusion.

Four weeks later, I still had not heard anything so I called again. This time, they repeated the mid-February date explaining that the delay was because of the holiday season, but said that was not a commitment either and it could be later, and it was not an option to cancel my order (so I could buy a different set somewhere else).

Told me what I wanted to hear to get the sale. Lack of follow-up and communication upon escalation. And no effort to make the situation right other than a promise for status updates in the future. Very disappointing first experience with Jackson’s.

Update: To Jackson's owner, I appreciate the response and understand vendor delays, but did or your team look into the issue before you responded? Did it really delay 2.5 months in 4 days? I actually received an email response to my inquiry on 12/14 quoting an 'estimated ship date' of 12/11. It was when I called that I was told to disregard that confirmation and that the best estimate was mid to late April because they were really busy due to the holidays (a patio furniture manufacturer?). I'll leave it alone at this point, but the poor communication and lack of any accountability is really disappointing. Seems like a nice store...hope the feedback helps them...

Beyond impressed. If I could give Jacksons Home & Garden a higher rating I would. I was in the market for a Napoleon grill and used their website to contact Napoleon dealers near me. I contacted BBQs Galore, Foreman's General Store and JH&G. JH&G responded right away to my inquiry. Never even heard back from the other 2 stores. I worked with Troy and Joe. Both very knowledgeable, courteous and responsive. They told me they could order me the exact grill, assemble it, deliver and install it for no additional cost. They would have to order it as that exact model was not in store. That blew me away as my research assured me I would have to pay for all of those services in addition to the grill. They placed and scheduled the order for me. After a week I was informed that they had my grill and gave me a delivery window. The store then called me a couple days later to give me a more precise delivery window. On the day of delivery the delivery person called and told me when they were on the way. The delivery guys were professional and friendly. Not only did they assemble/deliver/install the grill for me, they showed me how all of the features worked, offered to haul away my old grill and asked me if I wanted a dual natural gas connector that they had in the truck. I have purchased the 24” x 24” concrete pavers for a yard/pool project that remains unfinished because this product has not been restocked and no one will tell me when they will be available. I have called and left messages and no luck. I drive about 100 miles to pick these up each time, and last time I was told there was plenty to finish my project, but there were only 9 that were undamaged and useable. The pool has to be vacuumed every day because of the dirt that blows in it. I’ve been in contact with someone in pottery and he says he will get back to me with an ETA but that has never happened. Yesterday I was told I would receive a call back and never did. No response this morning yet so I’m writing this review in hopes that someone can remedy this issue. I’ve enjoyed visiting Jackson’s but this has caused a lot of frustration and has dragged on for well over a month. If these have to be discarded because no more can be obtained, that’s a lot of time, money and energy wasted...
