Strands Beach Parking — Attraction in Dana Point

What can I say about a parking lot?

Yeah, it has places to park and on most days there is plenty of space but the hidden gem here is the view. Incredible sunsets and sunrises (if you are into those things) or just a simple picnic

The downside, sometimes there are some hardcore day campers parked here or on the street parking with their solar panels out etc. It's not a bother or nuisance just sometimes a distraction

More upside here to this lot than...

I always park here when i’m going to Strands and i’ll even park here to get to Salt Creek beach. Just a simple walk up the coastline and you can get to Salt Creek easily. It’s free parking, and even when i’ve parked here on weekends it’s not too congested. Great spot to get to the beach! Just prepare for a bit of a decline via stairs or switchback on the way down...

Best walk on the beach in town from salt Creek Beach to Strand Beach and back is about a 4 mile walk in the sand which is amazing cardio not to mention the fresh air and the sounds...
