November 2023 - This active club for the Lebanese community in Danbury and nearby towns is humming with a busy schedule every month for members and their guests. The first floor is the club with wood tables and chairs, a fireplace, flatscreen television and catered food. The second floor is open for events. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022, the club has been in its current location on West Street since 1993.
Initially started as the Syrian American Club, it became the Lebanese-American Club in 1938. A charitable group, members have established scholarships, learning programs for countrymen new to America, fundraising, a Lebanon American Teacher Exchange program, a children's Christmas party, an annual golf tournament and the World Special Olympics Games here in CT.
