Los Rivera cafe — Restaurant in Danbury

Was very excited to try a new local restaurant before heading over to an event at the ice arena and that excitement very quickly turned to regret. A server finally came over to us after being seated for quite a bit, close to 15-20 mins, it took 1/2 hour to get our drinks, close to an hour to get 7 of our 8 dishes and over an hour to get our final 8th dish including one dish that was incorrect. When we inquired about the dish being incorrect, we were scolded by the woman who brought our food to the table that it is was what was ordered. We didn’t see our server from the time we ordered until the time we got the check. Not one person who we interacted with asked how we were doing, how was our food, did we enjoy everything, could they get us anything, nothing at and to top of all off, the food was mediocre at best, the best part of our meal was the chips and salsa to start off. Was really hoping to see a new place go into a building that hasn’t seen a ton of long term success but with the experience we had, I don’t anticipate on that happening.

EDIT:They altered the tip line on the signed receipt merchant copy which is theft and fraud so the charge has been disputed through my card company. Not only was the experience terrible but now they are stealing from a customer because they didn’t like the lack...

This evening I placed a over the phone order of shrimp, quesadilla no bell peppers and onions only shrimp and cheese also three bar tacos

I explained my order three times because the person over the phone couldn’t understand it.

I took a Uber on my way to my destination and stopped and picked up the food

I went there and picked up the food

Went all the way to new Milford, which is about 30 minutes away

Just to notice that they messed up my order

I called to let them know

I was serviced by a very rude young lady name supposedly Patricia that claims that she works there, but doesn’t know the manager never met the manager because she only works the evening

Long story short, she explained to me I have to bring back the food in order to get a refund and I told her I don’t have a ride and I am all the way in Milford despite the person before her explain to me they will come and pick up the food just for me to get my refund

Now she continued to rudely say that she can’t do nothing unless I get the food back and I explained to her I am not local

She couldn’t help me at all horrible experience and I wouldn’t recommend anybody to go there with that type of customer service

So many different ways, she could’ve handled that differently

But apparently, she’s the person that runs...

BEWARE IF YOU ARE ORDERING BIG PLATES!!! You will wait a long long time. We wasted 2 hours and spent $160 on food that was not worth it. We went in for dinner (fam of 7) and we had the worst experience plus the service sucked. Kids asked for simple small plates and that took a while then their food came out after 40-45 mins. Me and my husband asked for the barbacoa plate and it took them over an hour to get the food out, while the kids were already done with their food. The girl told us it would take a little longer to get the barbacoa but never mentioned that at the beginning before placing the order or we would have just ordered something different. The kitchen staff should have informed this to the girls from the beginning. The communication between kitchen staff and servers to costumers is so poor. The girls apologized so many times and offered a free dessert but no one eats sweets, so we declined. I wanted to like this place since I'm always looking for nice dinners but i will not be coming back, Management never came around to check or apologize.
