Davis Musical Theatre Company (DMTC) — Attraction in Davis

This truly a COMMUNITY theater! Volunteers are in every role of their productions and management. The support of the cast, orchestra, light/sound crew, costuming, and set design is tangible. They took special care in designing this theater to make SURE that the person in front of you is down far enough to easily see over them. The ladies' restroom is spacious and well appointed to ensure quick intermissions. However, the house manager is sensitive to the needs and desires of audience members by allowing extra time if the line for the amazing cookies and other snacks is especially robust.

Be prepared to book EARLY for Sunday matinee performances as they sell out quickly; however, if you really want to come on a 'sold out' Sunday, I recommend you still come as there are inevitably folks who can't make it to their pre-subscribed date.

Our first visit to this theater and a delightful surprise. My favorite part was the local hometown feel and friendly atmosphere. The cast welcomed the audience to come say hello after the performance which after SEVERAL other cities and numerous musicals this was a first! (Unless it is the last showing or you pay to go back stage.) Broadway talent, ...no. Best I have ever seen, ...no. However, what lacked in a few performers was well made up by the enthusiasm of all the characters in pure joy and love for what they were doing and it showed. Great musicals by wide age and talent range of performers. This all-volunteer organization supports people who simply LOVE musicals! Wide variety of plays from classics, to comedy, to tragedy, to Broadway to avante garde. Live orchestra, great variety, youth as well as adult theater, including some remarkably talented very young and rather elderly performers! Snacks and beverages available for purchase in lobby before curtain and during intermission. COMFORTABLE seating, accommodations for wide range of handicapped theater-goers.
