Estelle is now where Konditorie use to be. It's nice and vibrant white inside. It's less seating than before, but still pretty spacious, and there are few outdoor seats. Once you enter you see a wonder selection of pastries and foods. It's very clean and organized, and the people there are really nice. (added a few new pictures). I say a good coffee/backery is defined by their hot chocolate. And I was not disappointed- it was on par with Temple and Pachamama. The hazelnut latte (both hot and cold) are excellent. Very impressed with their drinks and pastries so far. Overall, Estelle is quite impressive from what I've expereinced and heard from others so far. They have a great selection and the salads and order items look amazing as well. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's what you'd expect nowadays. Nice to have this addition to Davis, in an area where most people do not frequent. Parking is a bit limited, so it looks like people are parking on the Davis Police lot... Enjoy!

Great selection of delicious and unique French desserts and pastries. The desserts are visually stunning and taste even better than they look! We tried two desserts: the island passion fruit cake was divine. Layers of coconut mousse and mango passion fruit compote melts in your mouth. The strawberry croissant was equally delicious; it’s filled with a creamy strawberry jam and covered in a light strawberry icing. The two items cost $17.50; I feel that’s pretty steep considering the island passion was probably 4-5 bites. However, the croissant was a decent size. We were on our morning walk and took our pastries to go, but they have seating available inside and outside. Surprisingly the interior is rather dark, like lightly dimmed inside and I agree with some of the other reviews, it seems very sterile and hospital-like. Their hours are a generous 7a-7p for a bakery. We’re from San Diego, but we’ll definitely return to Estelle’s when we visit Davis.

Damn. Wanted to hate this place for taking over the last bakery but this place is so much better I suddenly can’t recall the former name. Also I am going to name my first born Estelle. Just ask for one of everything. Loaves of bread, well crafted beverages, bright and pleasant interior. Perfect. Davis needed this. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Parking lot is a bit snug so watch out for the old ladies that probably wish there was a coupon they could bring in. I have zero criticisms of their food and drink. Service was very good, suggestions met our needs perfectly. My only qualm is after the remodel (looks great now and was much needed) the acoustics create a lot of echo and I like to gossip about other patrons so I had to take a minute to calibrate my 12-inch voice. Can’t wait to saunter back next Sunday!

I have been hesitating writing this review but I think I should share my experience here! I personally think the food was ok. We ordered a baguette, three desserts and a coffee or biscotti latte. The coffee however was burnt and the biscoff was just sitting at the bottom and was not mixed in. For the prices here, I would expect that the food or lattes be given more attention than they were. I believe the bakery items are fairly priced if they are made from scratch which I am not sure of. There I cannot speak upon. However, the service here was really the worst I have ever gotten. I feel like this sort of atmosphere brings a certain crowd in and most of the people in there were filming tiktoks or filming which is fine but it made me a bit uncomfortable. The ambiance is also a bit sterile and made me feel out of place. There is not much space inside of the vicinity so it can feel a bit crowded. The parking is not that great but that is not their fault. Our cashier was really rude, I was talking to my husband asking if I should get x, y, or z. The cashier said "I am not ready it is not your turn to order yet". I am sure it was a misunderstanding but I was not even talking to them or looking in their direction. It seems like most of the servers are anxious and rude especially when handing...

I've driven to Estelle 4 times and only got to actually eat there once. The parking has always been bad there, but the Estelle name has brought even more business, despite being not as unique as Konditorai. The baked goods are a bit fancier, and are made very well. The food was good the one time I was able find parking, see a line that didn't mean a 45 min wait, and everything wasn't so picked over that there was no point. I want to be a fan, but the real problem is the lack of any warmth, or sense of urgency in the wake of such high volume. I'm sure the staff works hard, but when the line is out the door, you need to show the customers you know their time is important, and that they are appreciated. I worked in food service at every level for over 20 years, and if I saw as many people give up and leave before ordering as I have at Estelle the 4 times I've been there, I'd be scrambling to change the operation logistics to speed up their processes. I'm not seeing that, and I fear once the newness fades, they will have alienated so many potential regular customers, that they will struggle after a...
