Great dog park. I've been here mw my times, and it is a good place to bring your dog to meet other dogs and play in an area so large they can run and play as much as they want, avoiding other dogs or playing with them. The size of the park is it's best feature. It also has some solid benches spaced around the park, and shade trees. I would have given it 5 stars but for 2 things - The city turns off the water at the drinking fountain in the warm weather - a real problem for active hot dogs. Carrying in enough water for all those big dogs is nearly impossible. And there are no lights at night and it gets really dark fast. Surely they coyld rig up some solar poweredi lights or something ! Also for many months in the cold weather the park is covered with water and is closed and locked - it would be nice to drain it and...
Read moreI really like the Toad Hollow doggie park. Because it is the lowest point in Davis and was designed to collect overflow rain, it is unfortunately often closed in the Winter (sob). In the drier times of the year, it is precious and beautiful! The patrons have purchased permanent benches to commemorate beloved doggies and loved ones, and the City of Davis has provided some, too, so folks can rest while their dogs play and chat with others who also love their dogs. The park is large and is divided into large and small dog areas. Folks are responsible for their dogs and clean up after them. We welcome visitors and often know doggie names before we know the owner names, and that's OK...

Had an issue with a woman with white hair and her bully mix with short legs and long body, red dawn In color. After her dog went after my dog she stalked the parking lot. The moment she arrived she asked if my dog was intact and how old it was and begin correcting her dog on the E collar. I knew there would be a problem. Rules state aggressive dog should be removed immediately, if the owners behavior was not so aggressive also I would have approached her about that. As with any dog park, it is use at...
