The FITNESS CENTER… Has cardio, free weights, treadmills and a Peloton Bike.

The Swimming Pool… Has water in it, but I haven’t used it yet. Hahahahaha!!!

From Checking in, to assisting with food, the STAFF makes all things possible, and incredibly pleasant. Which is why I’ve stayed here for 145 nights.

During check in: The Front Desk Host (Bach) is a delightful, incredibly helpful, very knowledgeable, and immensely intelligent young man.

He has the insight to help guest in their travels, when they are eager to visit Historic locations here in California. Bach, is constantly looking out for my needs as a guest, because I don’t work a typical 9-5 job. Therefore, Bach, along with the entire STAFF have gone over and above, in the efforts to make my stay comfortable.

I’m immensely GRATEFUL to everyone here!

Kayla… Always greets everyone with a kind, warm, and sincere smile. She’s just as helpful as all the others here. If there is something I may need, Kayla is already four steps ahead.

Shawna… Such a delightful, helpful and generous young lady. She is helpful in more ways than one. Always interested in how my stay was. And has helped many guests with countless needs.

Maria… Now Maria, she is a different breed. She seems to somehow know what my needs are, before I know what my needs are. Maria, brightens the day, even though the day is already bright. She is warm and compassionate to everyone’s needs, and oftentimes injects a sensational sense of humor.

Jie… Is more funny than the local comedy club. She always makes guests feel welcomed, and takes care of many other needs the hotel demands. Although breakfast starts at 6:30am… Jie, often has things ready by 6:00am. For some guests, this is...

Spacious rooms. Comfortable bed. All the necessary amenities in the room. Appreciated the "green-ness" of having refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser in the shower, compared to millions of tiny plastic bottles offered by other hotels. Our room was clean, including the shower (pet-peeve of mine).

Staff was all-around courteous and willing to accommodate a slightly late checkout related to our soccer tournament schedule.

We did have one issue with our door lock malfunctioning (which required the maintenance worker replacing the mechanism), but it was handled quickly and efficiently with consideration for my sleeping children in the room.

I like the location of this hotel. It is close to downtown and the freeway, but the noise is not discernable from the room or the pool area.

Fair price, especially when considering there is no parking fee AND a pretty good breakfast is included.

One more thing, the staff was very open to having our team use the breakfast area AND a conference room to congregate at lunch and dinner time where we brought our own food to eat. Plus, with three games in one day, they allowed our kids to play cards and board games in the conference room...

I absolutely enjoyed staying here at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites at the Davis-University Area. The staff were very personable, cheery, and attentive. The bed was so comfortable that I fell fast asleep. I expected to be able to hear the train in the middle of the night but the room was extremely quiet and I got a full night of uninterrupted sleep. I definitely did not want to crawl out of bed the next morning. Of course though, one must always get up, I went down to the workout room and smelled the bacon and eggs and was definitely tempted to not work out that morning. After finishing up my work out I quickly went back to my room, took a hot shower and changed so I could return for that breakfast. I was pleasantly greeted by the person who was making the food and ensuring everything stayed fresh and clean. The housekeeping staff are very friendly as well (and definitely hard working as the room was extremely clean and well stocked....thank you!!!). I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going into the Davis-University area, the hotel offers bikes to ride if you want to ride them down to the college and through the downtown...
