I went to the Cypress Aquatic Center here in Daytona Beach to swim my laps today. I had been looking for a new outdoor pool to do my swimming training in, without having to sign up for a typical restrictive membership and all the blah blah blah that goes with it, at the other âcommercialâ facilities. I was surprised to find this great facility, and also the other Daytona Beach municipal pool, which is called the Campbell Aquatic Center, which also looked good, but has limited days that itâs open. This Cypress pool turned out to be just perfect for me, itâs super clean, I was the only one there at 10AM when they open, and the manager and lifeguards were incredibly helpful and friendly. I immediately felt right at home, and that felt great. As you can see from the photos, they also have a super kids splash / swimming area, and they can turn on the waterslide whenever kids (or us retirees, when we want to act like kids again đ), want to take a spin down it. (Maybe a great place for a kids party?) On the side of the pool, they have two nice larger covered seating areas with picnic tables that make it very comfortable to relax out of the sun, before or after your swim, if you choose to do that. The male & female change rooms donât have showers, but there are two outdoor showers for use before or after your swim, plus one single private âfamilyâ change room which does have a single shower in it, complete with seating bench. Thereâs also a baby changing table in there. Swim teams do use the pool between 2PM & around 5PM as I understand, but they still leave two lap lanes open for public use even then. If youâre looking for a nice outdoor pool to swim in, I would encourage you to check out the Cyprus Aquatic Center. Iâm not sure how busy it is in the afternoons or on the weekends, but between 10AM and noon weekdays, it appears very under-utilized, and so offers tons of opportunity for swimmers or floaters to spend time there enjoying the pools. Oh, and just in case you were wondering - yes, itâs even heated for winter swimming, how...
Read moreNice place, but getting ready to contact BBB consumer report against this place and their staff, the lady in the front was very unprofessional, she gave other people a raincheck for another day written on a blue note, but this receptionist refused to give us one, very biase, and racist towards us, me and my family went there no more than 10min before they heard thunder and kicked everyone out, the lady even had the nerve to lie to my wife by saying they don't give out rainchecks after witnessing her giving them out, and even after another employee informing us it's up to her who she gives them out to, that is biase, I would give this place 5 stars but would give their staff a negative 0-star if possible especially the getto racist receptionist, I am a retired officer and paralegal and will bring a lawsuit against this place real soon, after making a customer report. This was about the children not her nasty attitude, and racist upbringings. Very...
Read more5 stars for the staff on Mothers day 2019. The young lady was nice and the Guy who had a great attitude dealing with some of the parents rude kids, my hat goes off to him. First time at pool and it was an outstanding experience. I dont know who is in charge but the staff on mothers day 2019 had challenges. Parents not monitoring their children, life guard constantly blowing whistle to stop children from running and going down the slide in groups. The guy life guard did a great job keeping his positive attitude in the midst of the same parents children not listening. Hi 5s were given out the whole time. I hope this review reaches whomever in charge so they know from an reliable review writer that his staff is very professional polite and fun. To the stuff keep up the positive caring attitude its noticed by those who...
