I went to sell my gold. The lady that was there was very questionable. I had a gold bar that was CLEARLY labeled 24k. She told me it’s 22k at the most; according to what? She didn’t even open the packaging or test the gold. If it’s clearly labeled (in its original packaging that was never opened or tampered with), how do you assume it’s 22k without testing the gold? Anyways, she took all the gold and gave me a price of $6.5k. My husband and I left and went to 2 other jewelers. 1 of those jewelers gave us a price of $9k and the other gave us a price of $9.6k. The difference between $9-9.6k I understand but what is the difference between $6k to $9k? If you have gold to sell, I suggest asking around & definitely steer clear of this place, especially if the older lady is helping you out.
EDIT: After this reply, I noticed I didn’t make myself clear enough. This lady did, in fact, take ALL of our jewelry to the back to test. She ruined one of my bracelets for testing purposes because she said she thought I was 100% going to sell it. To which, I said nothing about. I was just asking for pricing. There was even a younger man who offered to buy it for more than what it was worth because it was their fault for ruining my bracelet. Anyways, although she took ALL of the jewelry, the gold bar was untouched. She said it was 22k MAX, however, even though she took the gold to the back to test, it came back unopened/untouched. So it makes me wonder, how did she know it was 22k max? Anyways, long story short, instead of answering just to answer, maybe get your facts straight. Maybe look at camera footage? Speak to the older lady who helped us out, as I’m sure she would remember us as it wasn’t our first time in there. This disrespectful answer just confirms the terrible customer service portrayed by this jeweler. There is too many places in Dearborn/Dearborn Heights to put up with...
Read moreThis place is just ok, I’ve been here twice and both times the ladies that helped me weren’t welcoming or even friendly. I went in today to look around, but the service is just not there. I liked a ring but it was too small for the finger I wanted it on, so I asked the lady can I get it resized today, she told me yes. So then as she was charging my card she didn’t bother to even tell me about the 3% fee that they charge for using the card.. but she let the guy know beside me checking out, not sure why she wouldn’t have let me know. So she bagged up my ring and I was confused because I wanted it resized as she told me I could, she then goes on to tell me that I should go home and be sure of the sizing I want to make sure because I won’t be able to exchange it after that. I told her I know the exact size I need and then she goes oh the guy isn’t even here to resize the ring today come back another day… I really wish I knew this prior to buying the ring. She just wanted to make a sale, bad customer service. I told her I wish I knew this because I made sure it was resizable today, at first it was yes and then no. And she tried to make excuses for me to just come back and get it resized. All to make a sale. Rude, unwelcoming, and actually felt uncomfortable being in here. And this is the second time I felt rude service here but I let the first time go. No thanks! It’s not about the sale you make it’s about building that cliental. Maybe you guys should really take into consideration these 1 star reviews you’re getting about your service, that’ll tell you guys alot. So unfortunately I won’t return due to the service and lies I get told about the resizing being done the same day when I couldn’t even get it...
Read moreI have been waiting to go to Dearborn Jewelry & Gold Factory since they opened and I finally did. As a Yemeni American customer, I left not only disappointed but angry at yet another horrible experience in a non-Yemeni operated business in Dearborn. The employee did not only lack any proper customer service experience but was passive aggressive, interacted with me with bias and assumptions about what I can afford or can’t and didn’t even greet me when I arrived. As I got in, I approached the counter and literally no greeting from the employee (maroon hair color). I asked to see the coin bracelets and instead she shows me two other bracelets that I didn't ask for. I had to describe to her what I asked for again (something that is never needed in any other jewelry store when you ask for coin bracelets). I asked her how much they weight and cost. She still has not said a word to me, weights them and tells me the price. I asked to see other bracelets she proceeds to give the coin bracelets to another employee to put them back with a smirk on her face, even though I haven't said I didn't want them. Her interaction with me continues to be the same since I came in. I went in with the intention to purchase and find a piece that I liked, but didn't finalize the purchase due to her lack of customer service and her body language that was full of judgment and disrespect. Non-Yemeni business benefit a lot from Yemeni customers. We also like to recommend (or not) business to our networks. We are also not planning on tolerating this kind of treatment anymore. I would recommend this place train their employees and address this issue and I would encourage other customers to not stay...
