I was very disappointed I went there yesterday. They're only a few vendors there and all their produce was perfect looking. That's all they cared about was the way their produce looked. Not if it was healthy. I asked one vendor if their produce was organic and they said basically it was not it's they're sprayed with pesticides. Basically what I'm saying is I think most of the produce is the same produce we get from the grocery stores. Maybe some of it's grown locally but they spray it with pesticides. Why would I come to the farmers market to buy genetically modified pesticide sprayed produce? That's defeating the purpose. I don't care if it is locally grown if it's sprayed and they're using seeds that are genetically modified possibly it's the same thing as buying the grocery store produce. Somebody needs to talk to these vendors. It's just weird to me. where I live they know better than to sell some produce sprayed with pesticides. I'd rather have produce that has little holes in it from bugs and know that if the bugs will eat it that it's good for us to eat too. I've been running into this problem everywhere here in this area. Where I live you can guarantee that the produce that you buy at our Farmers market is organic because they know that non GMOs, non pesticide sprayed and soil health...
Read moreI am so disappointed in our farmers market .. I have never known of a farmers market to be closed so much of the time and when it is open closing so early!!! I’m sure they have lost a lot of business because people get tired of going and it be closed or trying to keep up with the hours !! They need to get someone else to run it because whoever is running it now is closing it down .. the vendors are leaving as well and I don’t blame them .. it’s a shame to have a farmers market in your own town and have to go to another town to get what you want or need or just get it from the grocery! What’s going on???? How do we get...
Read moreMy first experience was not a totally favorable one. The vendor facility and vendors are great. But 3 handicap parking spaces? I had a healthy 97 year old with a walker. Half of the parking is not lined. Traffic jams in the parking lot. Wow! A food truck took up 2 spaces on the street parking which could easily have been a couple more handicapped spaces.
I’m hearing now that the hours may change to open at 8. That’s an hour more of traffic crammed into less time the market is open. And from a vendor’s point of view - more sales in a shorter period of time to make it worthwhile. Hoping to see more...
