Disappointed Visit to Jewett Park Today
My wife and I brought our granddaughter to Jewett Park today, excited to enjoy a beautiful afternoon at one of Deerfield’s gems. Unfortunately, we were shocked by the amount of trash scattered throughout the playground and near the little league field — Solo cups, chip bags, ice cream containers… it was everywhere.
It’s truly disheartening to see such disregard for a space that’s meant to bring joy to families, kids, and the entire community. Jewett Park is a shared treasure, and we all have a responsibility to keep it clean and welcoming for everyone.
Please, let’s do better — pick up after ourselves, remind our kids to do the same, and help preserve what makes Deerfield such a special place to live and...
Read moreThis is a pretty frustrating set up. There is a big kid park next to a little kid park that is fenced and has activities for little kids, but the little kid park is closed to the public because it is reserved for the daycare that runs out of the community center next to the park and if your kid is in that park, even when the groups go in for a snack, they will come out and kick you and your toddler out, leaving your little kid to try to play at the big kid park that is not designed for smaller kids.
So, the little kid park is not a public park. It's semi-private for the daycare students for most of the day during the week.

Read morethis place has so much to offer! we didn't get to see everything when there because there were 3 different parks for all age groups. it was so much fun! the kids enjoyed the fenced-in little kids area for a bit that has instruments and slides. they then loved playing on the medium park and swinging with a view of the skate park! they were cheering people on. the third park was on the other side and looked like it was for a little bit bigger of kids. we will definitely be back...
