The food is good. Let's just put that first. The service is SO INCREDIBLY LOUSY! First off, we were having a business lunch. Time was short so we wanted to do something family style. We wanted to pre-order so the food was there when we got there and we could enjoy the time we did have and not eat fast and leave. I called on Monday to make the reservation. Spoke to supposedly the manager. He stated they didn't do family style but he suggested I review the menu and get everyone's order and contact him back. He said he could do a per person price on what we wanted to order, which was not what I was looking for so I have no idea why he brought that up and it pretty much told me what kind of place I was dealing with because he obviously didn't listen. I went back to my boss and suggested we go some place more accommodating but they wanted Rosebud so we got everyone's order. I called this morning prior to our arrival to give them the order and the final count for lunch. I got someone who didn't speak English, so I asked for the manager. They kept me on hold for 15 minutes, literally. I finally hung up and called back and then got the manager. Not the same manager I spoke with earlier in the week but someone else who had absolutely no interest in making the customer happy. I told him I had the orders for lunch and was told that I should call with the information. He said he couldn't take the orders and that we couldn't pre-order the food. I said, we were told that we could. He said he could do the appetizers only. I was really ticked. I ordered the appetizers and he says "two orders each of the appetizers, right" HA! No way! I had intended to order two of each until this clown gave me a hard time. Can you imagine? They were as unaccommodating as anyone could ever be, but I'm supposed to buy extra. Not likely. When we get there, I introduced myself to the server so I could give HER the orders and get them started. She seemed nice enough, but even though I gave her all 8 orders she still missed one of them. She said I didn't order it but having printed off each email order of the guests, I find that kind of hard to believe. Worst yet, my boss shows up and had been sitting there about 10 minutes and asked why no one had drinks. She never took the drink order. I had to call her over and ask her to take the drink order. She kept asking for my drink order. I said I was fine but others hadn't been asked. What a fiasco! Honestly, so not worth it. Even though like I said the food was good. (except for the calamari which was AWFUL) It just was a nightmare service wise and apparently...
Read moreFirst of all, I’m a former server and so don’t make it a point to leave poor reviews willy nilly. But this one is well deserved. Late afternoon birthday lunch for my husband. First time eating at the new location in Deerfield. Wow what a huge let down. Very surprised and sad because we have eaten at the old Deerfield location many times and it’s always been fine. First, our reservation was at 3 pm, we were the only people in the dining room, and they squeezed 4 of us into a tiny table that would’ve been small for 2 people. I’d hate to see this place full - they have crammed too many tables and chairs into a small space. We had to use the pass through shelf next to us for overflow - which our server never cleared throughout our entire meal. Server was gruff and acted put upon when we asked questions about food preparation when ordering. Not what you want for a celebratory meal. Salad course just okay. The wedge salads lacked enough dressing and we had to ask for a side to be brought - which can be no big deal, but when you’re paying $18 for a salad, it’s annoying. (We’re not cheap, but the prices here have been raised and are pretty ridiculous.) Food comes and half the entrees are cold. Meatballs are cold in the middle. Side of pasta is cold. Potatoes dry, bland, and undercooked. When I let our server know, she seemed annoyed and says “Hold on.” Then a manager comes over, asks if we want things reheated, and is not overly hospitable. To add a final negative - they actually served us cold cappuccinos. I’ve made many restaurant capps in my life and that’s pretty hard to do if you even have a clue what you’re doing. Cappuccinos were untouched, and they didn’t even bother to ask why. Charged for both. I understand COVID has resulted in restaurants struggling. But when you’re paying $300 for a meal (not including dessert), you have a minimum expectation of quality, which was not met here. Hopefully things will even out as they settle into the new location, but we won’t chance it again...
Read moreToday my brother and I with our mother came into this restaurant around 3:15 p.m. because our mother wants to order through the happy hour menu. So when we sat down at the table we tried to order from the happy hour menu the waitress gave us a hard time by saying we cannot order if we're at the table but happy hour is only at the bar. Our mother cannot sit at the high table at the bar because she is in a walker. The waitress told us it's not her rule, first of all we did not ask if that's her rule and we have to ask her to call the manager instead of her asking the manager. Unfortunately the manager was the same as the waitress gave us a hard time to order from the happy menu when my mother cannot obviously get up on the chair at the bar because she's on a walker. Why is it a problem just to get customer service at this place. We will never eat here again and we will not recommend this to anybody. And please whoever designed the menu please emphasize that the happy hour is at the bar with bold letters and not hairline letters otherwise we wouldn't have gone to the trouble. The print is very thin and hard to read. Ultimately we felt very disrespected and not welcomed at Rosebud. The waitress and the manager gave us a very hard time. All we wanted is to order from the happy hour and we cannot sit at the bar because our mother cannot sit at a high chair. We left the establishment we were all very disappointed. No apologies or any communication from the manager looking at us leaving. The waitress and the manager need a lot of training in customer service. Their behavior is unacceptable and offensive, arguing with paying customers. They don't care for the safety of...
