Del Mar Plaza — Attraction in Del Mar

So Brixton owns the Del Mar Plaza in Del Mar, CA. My wife and I got stuck in the elevator there last Saturday. Inside the elevator, it has a button to push to call for an emergency. It was only around 7pm and it went directly to a management's voice mail? Why wouldn't it go directly to security and/or a 24/7 operator? Luckily our cell phones worked and the fire department got there in less than 10 minutes. Then it took them another 40 minutes to get the doors open and get us out. So I called Brixton in Solana Beach HQ and asked to speak with someone about this matter as the licenses were also expired in the elevator. I was told to speak to "Tyler" and he was there. He wasn't there, got his voice mail and left a detailed message for him. He never called me/us back to even apologize for anything. This company obviously has millions of dollars in investor money, but zero customer service skills whatsoever? I run my own company and wouldn't treat any of our customers like this! What a...

Main shopping and eating plaza in Del Mar with a few long-term restaurants, including Pacifica (consistently great food & great views) and Il Fornaio, part of the chain with ocean views and the Enoteca, Fornaio's fantastic outdoor bar/caffè with authentic Italian espressos, cappuccinos, and drinks.

There is a large terrace with ocean views and seating that is open to the public for no charge. There are also public restrooms.

There are several upscale clothing stores for men and women as well as a jeweler for those feeling flush from the horse races, a souvenir/beach wear shop, and Seewald gallery, with photos and art by world famous photographer Michael Seewald.

On street level is an upscale Chinese restaurant, Rendezvous Del Mar, with an excellent wine list.

Parking is free for a limited time with purchase.

Due to high rent, expect high prices and high turnover.
