Clean, delicious, great wait staff! Definitely going back with my family! At the time of this review, we were new to the Delaware area and have been exploring different venues for the last few weeks, trying to discover our new city and figuring out what our favorite spots are going to be while we live and become new members of the community here. We had tried Old Bag of Nails in a few other locations around central Ohio and had always had a decent experience and enjoyed consistency with service and good hot food! Before we decided to head out to try out this Old Bag of Nails location in Delaware this Sunday evening with our little girls, we read some reviews on Google. We always had decent experiences so we were a little surprised when we read some older reviews that talked about slow service. We almost decided not to go based on those older reviews, but finally decided to give it a shot and decide for ourselves. Boy are we glad we decided to test if for ourselves! We were immediately greeted at the front hostess station by 2 very friendly people, one whose name was Heather (who happened to be our waitress for our first visit). Not only did our girls enjoy her, my wife really appreciated her responsiveness to us and the girls. She also made us aware of online specials and other versions of the fish that we had never realized in the other locations. Heather went above and beyond and she is a great asset to this location. We are delighted that we decided to ignore some of the bad reviews and found out for ourselves that this is a great place for family to eat! We are definitely going back and are going to make it one of our regular places for family and for date nights! Thanks Heather for proving some of the negative reviews wrong and making this one of our new favorite places to eat in...
Read moreThird time we've tried to enjoy their patio - and sadly, the last. Service is abysmal at best. Once your food is dropped off don't expect to see a server again. Tonight I went in to find our server at the hostess station talking - having plenty of restaurant and bar experience I asked if he had not come back because he had too many tables, he responded, no, it was his fault - end of story. (I had tracked him down 15 mins earlier to ask for our check and had implied that we were "ready to go") - so I asked for the check and said please return with me to the table to collect payment, and he responded that he needed to go get change(?). So I put the money due in the case and handed it to the bartender. No one there seems to care. If there is a manager they are MIA - the last time we were there we sat at the bar because there was a wait for patio seating - the bartender was gone with NO ONE behind the bar for 20 minutes. While I'm sure she deserved a break - that's just crazy. If this place is making money I'm shocked. And the time before similar experience to tonight - food dropped off, server can't be found. We won't be back and this is the second Old Bag of Nails that I've vowed to never return to. It's a shame, not a bad establishment but a whole lot of missed opportunity and crappy service!!!! In case you are wondering, we've returned to this location only because there are few options in Delaware with a patio, but this place can't even play in the same ball park with their...
Read moreRestaurant has significantly deteriorated over the several years of frequent dining here. Apparently bringing your children to work is part of the corporate policy program. This means your service is disrupted by your manager and or servers on the floor as it is more important to attend to their children of the staff rather than patrons looking for a good meal with their family. I have witnessed this practice on several occasions and find it very unprofessional but apparently corporate must approve to keep employees continuing to work at this facility. Mean while at other "Old Bag of Nail" locations you would not find this type of practices being allowed. Food is well below average and could use an over haul as when it comes out it looks very unappealing. Soups are always brought out "COLD" and don't ask for it to be warmed as there is no microwave that is available in the kitchen. Between the front and back of the restaurant there is no consistency from the kitchen to the floor servers. If you are a regular "town drunk" you have a far better chance of being served more adequately. Do your due diligence and research your dining establishments thoroughly. There are by far more restaurants in the area that are more customer orientated and will cater to your needs. It's your dollar spend it wisely. This is certainly both an honest and accurate rating for the overall...
