I'm currently reversing the diabetes diagnosis I was given & wanted to take the extra mile for my health & start going to the gym in this New Year. Ya know, the typical New Year Resolution move but the difference is I'm actually dedicated. My A1C started at 6.7 in April & now at a 5.8 so I'm serious about what I'm setting out to do.
My husband already attends this gym & I seen they had classes such as Spin, Zumba etc. so that sealed my decision to sign up for the 7 Day Free Pass Trial to feel it out as I am not a gym rat & don't care to go & work machines etc. on my own. Classes are perfect for me so I was very motivated & excited to start.
Went 3 out of the 7 Days & really enjoyed myself. Only reason why I didn't go all 7 is because my husband & I caught a cold. Edge has a Bright & Clean atmosphere & nice staff. The Trial is now up & I'd like to continue this journey. My husband has the Red Plan which is the most basic of all 3 Plans that simply gives you access to the gym floor & Edge Cinema, cool. He's a simple guy, he just uses the gym floor. The Total Plan gives you access to other emenities such as classes, access to all Edge locations, The Massage Chair/Table & you can bring a guest.
I'm being told that being a "guest" on my husband's plan I wouldn't be able to take classes & this is obviously problematic for our scenario. Edge Fitness should seriously consider implementing a Fitness Account Plan for married people or start considering accommodating married people for the Total Plan that can legally prove their marriage. In upgrading to the Total Plan my husband would've done his regular thing as usual on the gym floor & I would've been the one to take the classes as my fitness thing. Perfect.
It wouldn't make sense & just doesn't work for our finances to get a Total Fitness Plan paying $35 + tax monthy + an annual fee on top of still continuing to pay a $15 + tax monthly + an annual fee for the Red Plan making it $50 + tax monthly plus double the annual fees when we literally live in the same household obviously sharing income & can simply be paying that $35 + tax monthly + 1 annual fee alone by doing the Total Plan together as the 1 Unit/household we are & would be utilizing anyway.
So now I guess I won't be going to a gym anymore & I'm just feeling a little angry at this set up & discouraged right...
Read moreI had been going to the edge fitness of Delran for over a year without issue. February 8th 2024 everything changed health wise for me. I had emergency gallbladder surgery and was unable to work, let alone workout, due to my physical restrictions. I was told by the manager at the time to hand in all of my paper work and doctor’s notes and they would freeze my account without penalty. First mistake, I got nothing in writing and that manager is no longer there. I had a second surgery, that was planned, but put me out an additional 8 weeks. I started finally going back to work and the gym the second week of April. I was finally allowed to get back to working on me. When I checked in with my trainer he noticed an outstanding balance of $872.70. It was the balance of being absent from February to April and the balance was due. I disputed the charges that there was an agreement that my account would be frozen for the time I was physically unable to workout. The club manager said unfortunately there was no proof of the agreement even with my doctors notes and documentation of physically unable to do so… the balance was due, I cancelled my training sessions and left disappointed in the lack of empathy. Today they took the balance of $827.70 from my account without permission, a phone call or email of receipt. I contacted the location but the manager had left for the day. I contacted corporate and they said that nothing could be done and I would have to talk to the location manager. I contacted my bank to dispute the charges and explained my situation but even they cannot help. I will no longer return to the gym I loved nor trust another corporate company that doesn’t support their patrons when they are physically and financially unable to attend their gym. My surgery was not fake, the scars are not fake, but the management at Edge Fitness in Delran sure is heck is! Take your hard earned money elsewhere, they don’t deserve your support when all they care about is...
Read moreI'll say the experience for this gym has gotten worse over the years since its opening to the point I'm ready to cancel membership. The shake bar which used to be open till closing time after covid closes 30 min before that is perfectly fine.
The problem that has been constant of late is the Staff Specifically an Older Gentlemen with White hair muscular and with glasses. He has Consistently been rude to customers, Closes the shake bar 15 min earlier then the announced time.
Now a Worse incident Today 1/24/2025. He came in 6 individuals including myself was there at at 8:55, 5 min before the Gym Closes, Basically telling us we have to Leave, when before we would be allowed to stay until 9:00, It would be understandable if it was just a 5 min warning but there is a clock in the Sauna showing the time, we were all aware of the time and knew to leave. I'll note i've never stayed past closing time. He called me rude for stating the Facts in a calm manner. Yelling that the Doors lock at 9:00pm, There is a button on the door that unlocks it even if the door is locked so it wasn't an issue. The Guy just wants to Rush out immediately when ever he works and has repeatedly shut things down earlier. But he is a prime example of someone you do not want to ruin your Gym experience. The overall Quality of Edge has just been going down from the hours getting less and less, to times were they will close early without much warning as example last Sunday, The snow was not bad enough to Close, and the gym decided to close 30 min earlier... It did not get worse they just chose to close so they can go home, while every other place stayed open.
The equipment is Decent, the Classes are nice, but the Staff really ruins the experience as they can come off as Rude and Inattentive just being on...
