The Amanda James Gallery is an artistic oasis that brings together the talent and expertise of James Knell, an award-winning photographer and art framer and Amanda Johnson, an artist whose original designs and use of color have launched an art collector’s closet of fashions and accessories for both casual and more formal occasions.

The Gallery offers an incredibly large and unique collection of picture frames and the opportunity for custom design. James’ artistic eye for color and design are reflected in each aspect of his work. We have bought several of his beautiful photographs and have had many pieces of art framed by him which continuously receive compliments from our house guests. His nature photography (oceans, sunsets, and sunrises) has received multiple awards. And his Havana photos (exhibited at art galleries) brilliantly capture the city and its people in their urban settings. James also has extended his artistic interests to collecting art and the Gallery now has an extensive collection of Highwaymen paintings from the 1950-1980s that are currently for sale.

The Gallery is our special place for birthday and holiday gifts from Amanda’s beautiful hand- painted plates, gorgeous pillows and lamp shades to James and Amanda’s collaborative men’s tee and button- down shirts and an extensive collection of Amanda’s exquisite women’s dresses, skirts, caftans, slacks, blouses and shoes for all sizes and shapes. My husband almost exclusively wears his designer tee and button-down shirts to special events and family occasions and always gets compliments. And every year he wears his Amanda-created Crown to celebrate his birthday and shares it with friends to celebrate theirs. Amanda James Gallery is my go-to favorite place on the planet (and I’ve been everywhere, man!). Visit and be ready for luxury-chic-punk-pop-sparkle, and fine art perfection! Amanda Johnson’s creations always make my heart sing. She is a creative genius with an eye for color and form that is undeniable. I have been following her for years and have collected her creations in the form of wearable art, fine home decor, and most importantly…style! I can’t recommend her work enough.

James’s framing is top notch. He has helped me style and complete several framing projects that have turned out beautifully. He is professional, efficient, and has an excellent eye for materials and color! Not to mention his own fine art and photography.

Bottom line…Amanda James Gallery is a must visit for those with good taste and panache. And if you don’t live locally, no worries, you can order online or consult with them for bespoke creations.

This gallery should be 5 times bigger and funded by the town, it is a rare treasure of a gallery.

Every square inch of the small store is filled with artistic expressions, you can't help but bounce from one thing to the next. The two owners/artist are extremely friendly and will walk you through the entire gallery giving in depth explanations about each of the pieces.

They are light hearted and engaging, they go as deep as you want and are very open to hearing about who you are as a person. How many people have ever asked you what your artistic endeavor is?

The pieces in the store very wildly in price and both of the artist have a firm grasp on the reality of not everyone having multiple thousands of dollars to put down on one 6x5 painting. They have super cute magnets for $5, smaller prints for under $50, pillows, plates, paper crowns, posters, photos, on and on.
