Budget Inn-Delray Beach — Hotel in Delray Beach

From a "Builder" point of view, it's a 3 star, they are in need of some repair, nothing a skilled carpenter couldn't handle. They were ( I was in 2 different units) very clean, and obvious efforts were made for expected rental price. Property outside was surprisingly clean, no trash , no cigarette buts any where that I saw, which is rare. The staff were more friendly than others that I encountered during our search. It isn't the best and it's not the worst. I searched for bed bugs ( every where y go) no evidence what so ever in either units. Over all I felt like they are doing the best they can in these trying times. We needed a " lower budget" price and we found it here, and we stayed for more than originally planned. It's a tough business, renting these types of rooms, most people who would seek them are in some way, financially strapped and will take what they can get. Respect the management, respect the property and let's keep it safe and clean for the next visitors. At some point , any damages that you see was caused by a visitor . Remember that, before you judge the management, any where you go. If you owned the property, YOU would feel the same way. I was going to give 5 stars because I've been here a few times and never had an issue. Until last night I really needed somewhere to shower and sleep after work and when I called to inquire about vacancies, I was asked "Smoking or non-smoking". That question made me think I had an option so I said "smoking is fine but either one it doesn't matter". Then I was informed there was only Non-Smoking left so i told the gentleman "ok that's fine I can step outside if I need to smoke" he then said "oh NO I can't let you do that, it's late and I dont want my other guests bothered" I then went in to tell him I won't bother other guest I'll be quiet like I always am, and have smoked outside on many other stays.i even offered to not smoke at all for the night I'd be leaving really early anyhow which was in like 5 hrs. He then finally told me "NO I can give you this room I have to save it for NONsmokers" So yes that is why it went from 5 stars to 1 star, I really needed somewhere to sleep I had worked 18hrs and needed a shower and rest to do it all over again. There is NO REASON why he couldn't have rented Me that room. And I thought this to be A VERY RIDICULOUS REASON AND NOW HE HAS LOST MY BUSINESS PLUS OTHERS I HAVE SENT...

Customer service is horrible the lady is rude. I called to ask her if there is an vacancy she says one and I said okay im on my way can i pay with my card now very nicely and she yelled at me saying " I dont hold room and hung up" before I could ask if they had weekly rates and if they had 2 beds options.... So I called back she rejected my call 4 times... So I will never attempt to go here again. Some people are completly...
