Renovated playground: good in theory l, poor in execution. Continuing the trend of playground CrossFit the new structure seems like a welcome renovation. However, the designer seemed to have been given a checklist of elements they must include and had to make it work while still justifying their architectural degrees (if this is actually true I know the pain with my degree).
The issues show with a rock wall under the slide to a dead end, an amazing slide great for adults to slide with their kids but the path to the slide is roofed making it difficult for adults to make it there.
Great for active climber, balance beam kids but a pass for swingers...

The total trail distance must be around a half.mile. The scrub is high,dense and bland, with obscured views though chain link fences to railroad tracks, backyards and car dealerships. Read moreThis is not an environmental preserve ... It's an abandoned lot of scrub land overrun with kudzu invasive vines. You can't even see the plant species underneath the kudzu. The best adjective for this place is SKETCHY. As a woman who lives nearby, I would NEVER go here alone. There's always sketchy loiterers in cars in the parking lot and the playground is never used. This place should be razed and turned into a community garden or something - that way at least SOMEONE would be...
