I don't often do reviews, but I have to say that this car buying experience was one of the best I have had in over 50 years of buying cars. Normally I am the one that does the car buying in my household, but my wife came with me this time and she was amazed at how professional and courteous the people were at Grieco Chevrolet in Delray.
On December 28, 2019, I was greeted by Louis Cuomo (excellent, if you go there, ask for him, you won't be sorry), who was friendly and not pushy at all, (which I think is one of the pitfalls of the car industry, where they make you feel like you are prey and they are the Vultures waiting for you). He listened to my needs and did not try to sell me something that I was not interested in.
After going inside, I met Anthony (General Manager) that I had been emailing with about a Pre-owned Corvette they had on the lot. He was very nice and let Louis take care of the visit. Like I said, I went in looking for a Pre-owned and my wife spotted the color combination I had spoke to her about months ago. I had not seen this combination at any dealership as the 2019's are fading out. It was a new 2019 Corvette Grand Sport 2LT, Shadow Grey with the Kalahari interior. Just always loved that combination.
So as I said before, they are not pushy, after sitting with Louis for about a 1/2 hour, he brought us an offer sheet as I had requested showing a Purchase and a Lease. Unfortunately I was up against the clock as I had to go and see our granddaughters for lunch before they left on a vacation. I explain this to Louis and like I said no pressure, we shook hands and I told him that I would be back that day or the following day. At this point with most car dealerships, this is when they start the pressure as they do not want you to leave until they have gotten you to do a deal. Not these guys, they were great.
I did come back that same day, late, but I came back. His manager had already left as it was just after Christmas and I told Louis that I would come back on Sunday to finalize the deal when his manager returned. On Sunday I met with Louis and Alex (his manager) and we hammered out a deal that made both side happy. Anthony came over before I went in to see Finance (which was an excellent experience as well Charles Lauria was absolutely fantastic) and congratulated me for the purchase.
All the while during the deal, Louis was fantastic, looking over every detail, hearing what I wanted and delivering the message loud and clear. He was great, would recommend Louis and all of the people at Grieco we worked with. Just a Great experience and now looking forward to enjoying my Corvette. They had the best selection of Corvette's in Broward or Palm Beach.
Great Job Guys, you got me as a repeat...
Read moreI don’t normally write negative reviews, but I feel it’s necessary to warn others about my experience at Greico Chevy in Delray.
My husband and I came in on Wednesday, August 20 around 11 AM with four payments left on a Honda lease. We were very clear: we needed a Chevy Traverse with three rows, in any color but black or red, and we wanted to stay at our current $650/month payment. We also made it clear that we had to pick our kids up by 3 PM.
Our salesperson, Tommy, assured us this wouldn’t be a problem. By 1:30, we were told we could keep our $650 payment for 48 months. I wasn’t thrilled with 48 months vs 36, but agreed since it seemed straightforward. At that point, there was no real negotiation — just a “yes” to our number.
Then the finance manager, Sergio, told us the $650 did not include taxes, making the payment $712. He also claimed he would cut me a check for the remaining Honda payments. By now it was 2 PM, and Tommy said the rest would take only 30 minutes.
Instead, it dragged on for hours. By 3 PM my husband had to leave to get the kids while I stayed. Sergio tried to bond with me about owning a salon, while rushing me through paperwork. By the time I signed, it was 4 PM and my family was waiting across the street at Honda.
Tommy promised to bring the new car over after it was washed, but we ended up waiting at Honda from 4:30 until 5:30. At 6 PM, fed up, I walked back to Chevy myself and found the car just sitting in the lot. We finally left around 6:45 PM — nearly 8 hours after arriving, with nothing to eat all day, and my kids stuck waiting for hours.
When I got home and looked at the paperwork, I realized I had been rushed into signing a lease at $800/month for 48 months on a $41,000 vehicle. That’s far from the $650 we were promised. I’ll admit I should have slowed down to double-check, but parents will understand the stress of juggling kids and business responsibilities while being strung along for hours.
We weren’t trying to haggle — we were ready to accept their offer. Instead, we were taken advantage of, misled, and left feeling exhausted and deceived. Tommy even claimed he’d worked there “a long time,” but it turned out this was his first deal.
If you want to spend your entire day at a dealership, be misquoted on payments, and have promises broken, this is the place for you. Otherwise, beware.
According to my contract, I have 60 days to return the car, and I fully intend to do so unless this situation is made right. I am willing to update this review if Greico Chevy takes proper care of...
Read moreI had one of the worst car-buying experiences at Grieco Chevrolet of Delray Beach. Over the phone, Bella told me the final out-the-door price for the vehicle I wanted was $16,099, and I explicitly asked if any additional fees would be added. She put me on hold and came back stating that all of the fees were already included in the online price, which made me feel confident about going into the dealership.
However, after test-driving the car, the salesman, Chris, presented paperwork showing the car priced at over $21,000 for an 8-year-old car with 90,000 miles. When I asked why it was so much higher than the price listed online, Chris asked me to show him the post, claiming they honor online prices, and even stated that if they didn’t, it would be "false advertising." I showed him the post, and he then brought out his sales manager, Luis.
Luis told me he could lower the price to $18,000 because I brought my own plate to transfer. How ridiculous does that sound? When I asked why the website said $16,099 with taxes and fees included, and why Bella on the phone said the price was negotiable, he claimed the extra $2,000 was for sales tax (which, again, I was told was already included in the price by Bella) and had no explanation for why he was asking for $21,000 in the first place.
Luis was extremely unprofessional throughout the process. At one point, he tried to intimidate me into agreeing to the price, asking me to shake his hand and accept the $18,000 price if, after listening to the recording of our phone call, I was proven to be lying about what Bella said. So, I entertained his unprofessional behavior and asked that if she did say there were no extra fees, would he sell me the car for $15,000 out the door? Of course, he said no.
Both Chris and Luis told me to "lower my voice" in a condescending and intimidating manner, even though I was rightfully frustrated with their dishonesty. Finally, after they listened to the phone call and confirmed that Bella had indeed told me there wouldn’t be any additional fees, Luis refused to continue the conversation and walked away. To make matters worse, when I went back on their website, it suddenly said taxes and fees were "unavailable" to view. Luckily, I had taken screenshots of everything.
This dealership clearly engages in bait-and-switch tactics, is unprofessional, and has no respect for their customers’ time or trust. Avoid Grieco Chevrolet of Delray Beach at all costs unless you want to have your hard-earned money ripped...
