Rant: The creole collection
This event was VERY POORLY PLANNED. I attended today with macie, and arrived at 11 am when the event started. We waited in line for 45 minutes on arriving for a picture, where she had nothing else to do but stand in line for 45 minutes. There wasnât music playing and nothing for the kids to do other than stand in line and wait. Once we took our picture, we had absolutely nowhere to sit. We had to ask multiple times for a table (it wasnât just us it was others too) before one was finally set up for us in the back. Now we are an hour and a half into the event. We wait in line for lunch and by the time we got up there they were out. The venue staff apologized and said that they oversold on tickets and the venue was not notified. We said it showed because we didnât have anywhere to sit. We paid $70 to attend this event, and it was beyond miserable. There was no order and those poor princesses did the best they could. I will not attend another event that is put on by the creole collection again. Iâm even more disappointed that they have deleted my comments instead of acknowledging or even apologizing. I have now been blocked from being able to comment on anything. I never got a response from the business, they just deleted and blocked me, as well as others who have attended. My comments and other peopleâs who have attended were deleted and not acknowledged, so hereâs my review đ save...

For those that don't visit often, the Antique Village has made some changes recently. For one, the old bookstore relocated to what used to be a hotel, right beside their old location, and their old location is now a fitness center/clothing outlet. The TOLA Cafe is now a Tattoo shop, called Faithful Studios. Their work quality is absolutely phenomenal, and rivals the best shops in 225, including th Burning Lotus, on top of having an ATM inside the shop, which is open to the general public, making for great convenience for anyone visiting the district.
Definitely check the area out, there's much more to enjoy as well, such as the brewery right down the street, which provides incredible food on top of their live music performances and excellent beer, the Cafe Du Town, which has indoor and outdoor seating, and a covered patio with lounge chairs perfect for reading, and one of my favorite little shops, the Mayfield Mercantile, which has some of the best candy and fudge...
Read moreDenham Springs Antique Village is like stepping into a time machineâexcept instead of buttons and flashing lights, it smells like old books, polished wood, and sweet nostalgia. You donât just shop hereâyou wander. One minute youâre looking at vintage glassware, the next youâre holding a 1960s Elvis lamp you suddenly canât live without.
The shop owners are friendly, welcoming, and full of stories that are almost as good as the treasures they sell. Whether youâre a serious collector or just out for a Saturday stroll, thereâs something here for everyoneâquirky finds, one-of-a-kind pieces, and that joyful moment when you realize youâve found the perfect thing you werenât even looking for.
Itâs Southern charm, small-town hospitality, and a treasure hunt all rolled into one. Five stars, and an extra gold star if you manage to leave without buying at least one thing you didnât...
