I've been to Senate theater three times and overall I had a great time. The atmosphere is like travelling back in time, the snacks are really good and the staff is very friendly. Also, the organ player is fantastic.
However, the acoustics are not great. The movies I saw in there were Polyester (starring Divine), Rain (starring Joan Crawford) and Queen Kelly (starring Gloria Swanson). With Queen Kelly I had no problems since it's a silent movie, but the other two I had a hard time trying to follow since I couldn't understand any of the dialogues. I just wish the theater included subtitles in the movies, but I understand that they may be annoying to other people.
