One star. Very nice people. Showed up on time. Needed my garage door headers replaced/fixed. My written estimate was for $625 labor and $200 estimated material charge for a total of $825. The person that came out to look and take pictures said they would replace one header and fix the other if necessary. The bill I received from the one person who did the work was $1569.38. Neither header was replaced. I did not like the work that was done and did not pay the bill or sign that I was satisfied with the work. I discussed the situation with the person in charge when he returned the following week. He assured me they would come back and do what needed to be done to make me happy. I was glad to hear that and asked for a copy of the bill. I later received a copy of the estimate. When I called the company they assured me I would get an email with the bill. They called back later to tell me they had sent the bill and to set up a time for the work and requested I pay in full prior to their return. I sent an email explaining what I would pay immediately and assured them I would pay in full upon completion of the job. They never responded to the email. The technician did show up promptly and performed the rework. The supervisor also showed up. I paid him at the end of the day. The work is unsatisfactory. I will not ask them to come back. They do not know how to fix the issue. One header should have been replaced entirely. This takes more than one person. They charged $125 per hour. I assumed there would be at least two people. I still have to have the issue addressed but $1500 is not the kind of money you go to court over. I have decided to move on. This company is just what it says it is, Handyman. Good for small jobs. I had an employee of My Handyman address some things at my home on 10-1-2019. It was a very positive experience.

One task was adjusting five doors that sagged, wouldn't catch when closing, wouldn't close over uneven flooring or installed carpeting, etc.- all a testimonial to the really poor finish quality of the builder of my six year old home that were on my original punch list and never got addressed, and are beyond my challenged physical abilities to fix myself. The other task was straightforward power-washing to remove mold/algae on the north side of my home, but involving a steeply sloping side yard and essentially going up two and a half stories.

The employee (Homer) was very professional, everything was addressed very well, he didn't leave big messes behind, and he didn't mark up walls or floors when moving doors about (e.g., into the garage for sanding/planing). Homer asked for my review of everything he did, and he asked questions beforehand that told me he was intelligently thinking about how to do things. It was easy to schedule a visit through their central office, and they kept to the appointed time/date.

Based on my experience I would definitely use My Handyman again. One final thing to note is that they may be on the expensive side, but it was worth it for me. We love My Handyman! We recently moved in to a new home, and have had a lot of work done by My Handyman; we are incredibly happy with the jobs done and will use them again in the future and recommend them to anyone with a project in need. It was well worth the cost, not only because of the guarantee, but because of the quality work done that has made our new house feel like a home. The pictures attached show a before and after of our main living room wall. The room had a tall wall cabinet which held a TV, however, our TV was a different size, and we wanted it mounted on the wall. In two days My Handyman had the cabinet out and the wall completed. They painted the wall and mounted our TV, and as you can see from the after picture it looks amazing! We also needed the living room painted a different color, and the room is very large and spans both floors of the house, so it took a lot of work to paint the entire thing with two coats, and they even went back to take care of the 'spots' that showed up a day later! They were there when they said they would be, quoting was accurate, the work was clean and efficient, and we were so pleased we had them do more painting and fixes around our new house.
