Today Smoke Signals lost a long time customer. I’ve been coming here since they had the other location, how ever many years ago this was. I’ve always believed in supporting local businesses, and was proud to call SS home. This ended tonight.
A couple weeks ago I purchased a replacement atomizer for my Cloud Pen. The manufacturer was running a sale at half price, but I again believe in keeping my business local. I paid the $10 for the atomizer, and even did some card magic for the employee’s here. I went home and popped in the new atomizer, only to find it didn’t work. No big deal, I said to myself. I’ll just head down there when I can and get a replacement.
Well, tonight was the night and I went in there fully expecting them to replace the broken atomizer they sold me. The very condescending worker told me they don’t give refunds. I said I didn’t want a refund, I just wanted a replacement. He said, “yeah, this is normal with a lot of the vape stuff” and then pointed to the sign stating “all sales are final”. I couldn’t believe my ears. I literally said to him, “ok, so you guys sold me something that doesn’t work, and I’m here pleasantly asking for one that does work, and you’re telling me you aren’t going to replace this? You realize that after I leave here you guys are losing a weekly customer, right? For good, I’ll loterally never step foot in the building again?”
He says, “yeah I totally understand man, sorry about that. I can sell you another one if you want (all smiles. As if he enjoyed this). And then I turn around and exit this shop for the last time. I understand why there’s a need to make all sales final, given the nature of the product, but in this case I’m showing a completely unused $10 atomizer, that I can literally show not working. In addition, it’s not like I’m a random customer who hasn’t spent thousands in that store.
I helped the owner of this business, Sue, and her brother with snowboarding equipment many years ago. If she had come back with an unused binding that she couldn’t use because it was broken, what do you think I would’ve done? She would’ve left with working equipment.
Guys, take your business elsewhere. It should be illegal to sell broken merchandise. There are other shops opening up nearly every month. A shop that is in the practice of selling broken replacement parts is not one that warrants our business. Portsmouth Smoke and Vape will be more than happy to have my business from this day forth.

Read moreA decade long customer, I always looked forward to coming in there. I must say, I cannot believe how they handled my recent and very last purchase.
I bought a $10 atomizer. For me, $10 is a large amount of money, but that shouldn’t matter. The coil was broken before I even bought it. They are selling broken replacement parts, and when I went in completely assuming they would just swap it out for a working one, I was told all sales are final! Are you joking?
Add to that, the staff member that “helped” me was incredibly conceited and just nowhere near empathetic to my situation. Oh, but he definitely did me the favor of offering to sell me another one.
If you do go in there, there is one staff member and only one staff member you should deal with. I can’t recall his name, but he has a beard and frequently wears a hat. He took so much time with me to discuss and explain both E-Cig juice and Kratom. He saw me with a deck of cards and asked to see some magic (and actually knew a thing or two). Every single time I went in and dealt with him, it was an honest and positive experience. The other staff is condescending and really could care less. They also follow what they call federal guidelines about the terminology that’s appropriate there, so even though I’m a medical patient in a medical state, I can’t call an apple an apple. If you show your card, you should be able to speak about your medication.
I’m now a customer of Portsmouth Smoke and Vape along with Stateline in Rollinsford. Portsmouth Smoke and Vape has 3 locations, and are incredibly honest and open in their business practices. I’m headed there today to make my first $100 pricepoint purhase. They are...
Read moreDo not shop here. They are incompetent liars. I called and asked a price about a specific item and even double checked the price. I proceeded to drive 45 minutes to get the item. When I arrived the item had went up in price by $50 dollars and they thought I was asking about a different item supposibly. They told me oh well not their fault I drove 45 minutes one way on their word. I will never shop here again and will tell all my friends about my experience as warning. Thank you for wasting my time and money, I was only asking for 10% off the item and not the almost $50 it went up in price from the phone conversation.
EDIT: despite what the owner wants to say. They never held the item for me as I was told there was more than 5 in stock so there wasn't a need too and the price that was given to me twice over the phone was 74.20 and when I showed up the product was 114.99. That is a 40 dollar difference. As a business owner I would of rectified the situation that my employee created. But that is ok. I didn't purchase the item because it was falsely advertised to me by your business. I instead purchased it online for the price that i was originally quoted. Thank you for the response but I will not be back and will continue to not recommend you to my...
