All around great place. A relatively recently renovated playground with a multitude of rope climbing equipment surrounding a jungle gym-down scaled version of Dover's iconic Gerrison Hill Tower, with multiple features, multiple slides, multiple swings for every person who likes to swing (along with new disk-shaped swings, harness swings for little ones, and full body harness swings so everyone can join the fun!). The playground also includes a large splashpad for those hot summer days, a massive boat or "Gondola" to run around on, drinking fountains, music making stands, sand pits with water features to intact creativity, and a multitude of benches for those times we really need a rest. Next to the playground are a couple porta pottys for public restrooms that are usually unlocked, and a large parking lot with metered parking. There is also metered street parking around the entire perimeter of Henry Law Park. There is unmetered parking for the town skate park that is located on the opposite end of the main park. The main park is situated overlooking Dover's famed Cocheeco river, and the mill buildings on the other side of the river. There's a very small boardwalk to really get closer to the water for some great and iconic photos (if you're visiting), and with plenty of trees and 2 gazebos with picnic tables, there's plenty of shade when the sun's unforgiving. When the crowds are down, there is plenty of greenery for running around or playing field sports, and the park gets the perfect view durring the magic hour, right when the sun is setting, and you get a healthy warm glow draped upon a normally...
Read moreWater fountains should be back on by now, but alas, they are not. The splash pad is decent! Good for the kiddos and parents to cool off in the heat! Bring sun screen! The bigger slide near the road is a bit dangerous and causes a lot of kiddos to bump their heads and fall off at the bottom. Some tears but still they have fun. Another thing is the sliding pole on the center green tower. I personally watched a 3 or 4 year old belly flop off stright to the ground. Wasnt pretty. Sure, its maybe not a feature meant for the littlest littles but still I feel it poses more danger than it has to offer fun. I'd rethink that design. There needs to be a bit more tables under the shade provider nearest the building. The little blue library box is a nice feature. My son and I have had some fun reading whats in there, however, since its free reign for all, Ive found a few inappropriate materials for the age groups that congregate at this park. Beware of the restroom area. We recently found some nefariously used needles in that spot so I do not recommend letting your children go over there without supervision or shoes. Riverbend is nearby the park and is an excellent spot to take the kiddos for some grub and to cool off. Lots of options for the whole family. Enjoy your...
Read morein my opinion at least for me Henry Law Park is one of the best parks in the Dover area they have adequate picnic tables a great field to do sports activities and like I said they have a wonderful brand new playground if you have children I would highly suggest this area of Henry Law Park if you have children and you are looking for swing sets slides they have it all right now the water is shut off do the winter time but in the summer they have running water in the children seem to have a blast they have a little mini Garrison Tower for the children The Climb several ropes and swings and musical instruments that are outside it's a wonderful brand new park where you can bring your kids to run wild and just be a kid and have...
