Grocery Outlet — Attraction in Duarte

used to come here a lot. alot of businesses in this part of duarte were closing which isn't that good such as big lots and 99 cent and rite aid. my old Dr was near here . it's nice to see it still standing . they have good deals on things you might otherwise not be able to get due to retail cost. one thing that I ended up finding here and becoming a fan is numi aged earl gray tea. it's what I call a bougie brand tea lol and it's got hella caffeine . I love making Arnold Palmer's with a few tea bags and crystal light lemonade . they also have items you don't see often and if you browse the aisles like pasta aisle hygiene aisle there's many goodies. some spaghetti sauce I seen for $8 at other stores but they had it here around $4. still long away from expiration and everything. my other aisle is the cheeses and all that you can get gourmet stuff or name brand for cheap. Most locations have that perk. they also have the copper ankle socks and the dangerous aisle is the household aisle . all kinds of nick nacks and a hoarders paradise basically haha... The freezer aisle has many diamonds in the rough but certain things vary by location and are better at one store or the other. Many of the freezer items imo are either close outs or things that didn't stand out enough at the grocery store. like they they are known brands but not popular flavors or whatever. I moved from the area but miss shopping...

I like every Grocery Outlet I have been to. This one is fairly new. Yes there are some items that are not available; but remember this is an outlet type store. Here are some examples of what I found today: Dole Bananas were .39 a pound, Yoplait yogurt was 2 for a dollar, Macadamia nut Betty Crocker 14 oz. cookie mix .79 each, Gallon 2% milk 2.49. There were more bargains. The retail prices displayed for comparison purposes seemed to be very high remember this when making your comparisons. The store is definitely worth at least a once a month visit. The store was clean and organized and when I asked for help on certain items store personnel were very helpful and knew where stuff was. Well I came back to this store about a year later. Dole Bananas are now .49 a pound about the same as at other stores. I have had two dealings with rude help so I have downgraded the rating from 5 to 3. I was talking to a worker and the manager came up and interrupted the conversation. No excuse me or pardon me. The store was not busy and I was asking a store related question. Another time, again the store was not busy I was rushed through the checkout line and because I was rushed I left items at the checkout. The check had stuff piled in the checkout area so I didn't notice my items because I was being rushed and because of all the other stuff in the checkout area. Will...

Feb. 14, 2025. The old short man at the register @ 1:53 pm rang up 2 of my items twice. When I nicely calmly quietly told him I only had 3 items he got all flustered and got so angry that he couldn’t figure out how to correct his mistakes, that he had to cancel the transaction after raising his voice at me that he had to cancel the transaction. 🤣 Why is he angry at me for his 2 mistakes? 🤣 Finally he does it right. He said, why are you laughing at me? I said I’m not allowed to laugh and he said I was not! Oh I said, you are very prejudice and racist, as I am allowed to laugh. This little man is a fool. An absolute fool of a little man. People watch what he does. Don’t let him try and cause you extra money by being a very bad cashier.
