My name is Crystal McDowell. On September 17, 2024 I decided to try DJ's Carwash or Main Street Car Wash in Dunedin. Since I live in Dunedin I pass the business on a daily basis and I always wondered if my car would get a better wash if I did it myself. Automatic car washes don't get rid of all the brake dust on my wheels and my wiping them afterward never seemed to make a difference. So, that Tuesday afternoon I decided I was going to try the self-wash at DJ's, only I did not know where to begin. A young man named Edgar, who said that he did the maintenance at the carwash saved my day. He not only told me what to purchase at the Dollar Tree store across the street to loosen and clean that nearly black brake dust from my wheels (my car had not been washed in awhile), but he explained each of the selection buttons and advised me which would be best for the condition of my car. This was knowledge for me to use the next time I would wash my car at DJ's Carwash. Then, like a true hero, Edgar asked me if I would mind if he washed my car for me, explaining that since I was a newbie I would take too long and the timer for my prepaid wash would run out before I finished. Taking the wand from my slow uncertain hands, Edgar very thoroughly and quickly washed and rinsed my car, teaching me that I could not take my sweet time getting this done. Hey, I had never done this before! My wheels came out looking brand new. I was ecstatic! If Edgar had not been there to represent the business, my first experience at the self-wash may have been my last. Now, for me, it will be DJ's Carwash every time (the name painted on the building is Main Street Car Wash). Thank you, Edgar! Thank you,...
Read moreThe owner is a nice guy. We were their the moment a rude PCSO deputy stopped by and shut him down due to Covid. That guy was not even decent to the owner. He threatened him with a fine and JAIL if we put anymore money in to extend our wash. First of all, the wash bays are divided by cement walls that are maybe 15 feet tall and covered. It creates the PERFECT Covid barrier. Second, noone else was there and the decent thing to do would have been to let us finish up and then be on our way. Instead we left with half soapy vehicles. As we left I handed the owner the rest of our change, probably $10 worth, because he would have gotten it from us anyway in carwash. He did not want to take it but I told him who knows how long he will be shut down and he needs it more than I. He was thankful and looked seriously worried about the "what's to come" of Covid. We have returned several times. The only thing that would make this place better is if he took credit cards like the one in...
Read moreI had a very good experience. I deliver parts for a living and the work vehicles are filthy, to say the least. I zipped in there after my delivery, and rolled up to the vacuum (that's all I was going to do) and I was very shocked that not only DID it work but OMG the suction was amazing! Sometimes I needed 2 hands. So since I had a good experience w the vacuum, I decided to wash the car. I just used the power wash cycle w soap. I was able to get all the crud off it. I couldn't spend a lot of time there because I was on the clock. But I'll be bringing my car there today to...
