Edit Update:
There are new clothes with tags on that cost less on the original tag than you’ve priced it in your store. Particularly in the women’s plus size. Several were from Old Navy. Some of them are two or three dollars more than the original tag. - please don’t gaslight me, store owner.
There are also used items that are in poor condition that cost more than any thrift store I’ve been in..
No thrift store should have an 800 dollar piece of furniture. The restore never has prices that high. Even for pristine pieces.
The idea that it is cheaper than a retailer is not acceptable. It’s a thrift store. To serve the community prices should be affordable for the community.
Many many things are priced over what they would be new in the store and that’s not okay. Some of the furniture is at more than 100% markup of what you’d find at the restore.
I did find some good deals but it was hard and their inventory is really really overblown- probably because they can’t move it as well due to pricing.
I’m happy to support a cause but they should also be selling for fair prices to also support...
Read moreI have shopped here many times and still shop here, but when it comes to the silent auction items I no longer bid. The reason is I went there a few times and bid on this one lot of Nasar items. I ended up being the second highest bidder and the first place bidder fell through. They called me and I had a bid at maybe $80 and $65 and said I would not like them for $80 but if it got down to my second bid I would be willing to purchase them. They said they would let me know. A couple of weeks later I walked into the store and that same lot was up for auction again. I asked politely at the counter and explained my story and they said that it must've gotten "too low to sell". I believe this is extremely dishonest and if there is a minimum at which they will sell it they should specify that up front. I still shop there and encourage you to check out their clothes, but I still have a hard time supporting this business due to the ethical concerns I...
Read moreI grew up poor, going to thrift stores is out of necessity. Before it was cool, we got made fun of. Now I am a disabled single mom and unfortunately it’s cheaper to buy things at Walmart than in thrift stores anymore. I like sustainability, but these thrift stores are getting greedy. Particularly this one. The prices make my jaw drop. Every year it’s worse. They are getting everything in their store free, so it’s crazy to me that they feel the need to hike up prices so high.I’m not sure who they are helping, but they’re certainly not helping the poor and disabled in their own communities by hiking up their prices because thrift thing became cool.store is nice, and the people working there are kind. But as far as their mission goes I feel they should reevaluate the impact it has on their...
