This is a fairly long beach than runs West of the entrance and all the way to the Pinestead Reef timeshare resort. It used to be a deep beach but the water levels are up (can't fault the park). Picnic tables and benches are well maintained (many beaches lack these). Long gassy area (another plus that many lack). Pedestrian bridge from the stae campground on other side of highway.
I laughed at some of the reviews. I saw no dead fish. The guy that did... welcome to mother nature. Probaby just happened and the ranger cleaned it up.
Highway... duh, you access it, turning right from the highway. It was intended to mainly serve the campground across the street.
Biohazard disposal (sharps box) in the bathroom? 1. Be happy they have a bathroom and 2. Would you prefer diabetics just leave their pen needles somewhere else?
Water cold? Please tell me where you have gone that the park controls Mother Nature ... warming the water for you. Come in Sept when the bay is more...
Read moreThe best kept secret is out! TC Stare Park Beach. It is owned by the State Park so you do need a park pass for your car if you are wanting to use the parking lot. Much better beach than anything in downtown TC as this has same amenities but is much larger stretch of a beach without all the boats pulling up like downtown has. Also the West Bay tends to have higher levels of contaminants (look at the flags when you go before you swim. Green is a go, yellow is elevated levels of E Coli and only go waist deep, red DO NOT SWIM) due to their relation with the...
Read more4/15/24, I saw a steelhead fisherman standing in the water in front of Denny's today(I was spying on him). Since I was finished eating at Denny's, I walked over to the T C State-Park near the mouth of Mitchell Creek. From a distance (He saw me looking) and motioned for me to come toward him. I hollered back at him... "I'm not looking for any trouble"... He didn't reply, he just reached over to his left side and un-snapped a toot-bag, lifting a chrome-colored fish. As I was walking away, I turned to see him kneeling at the waters-edge... he was rubbing the fish belly and singing...roe-roe-roe, merily-merily-merily, life is...
