Planet Fitness — Attraction in East Hanover

Because of a conversation with regional manager named Greg I would give this independently owned planet fitness zero stars if I could. But unfortunately I am forced to give them one star. My company switched from silver sneakers to renew active in the middle of the year. This planet fitness is trying to charge me a second annual memberships within the same year and in addition trying to charge me an increase in the monthly rate on a plan I’ve had since inception. I’ve been a black card member since they opened… This manager wants to blame the insurance company and planet fitness corporate but when I speak to the insurance company and planet fitness corporate they say that it is all within the discretion of the ownership of this privately owned planet fitness. Therefore, this manager and the ones in the store are “choosing“ to lose me as a customer. They could spin it however they want but that’s what they’re doing. The result was that I am no longer a member of planet fitness and will never be again… This separation lies solely on the local managers in the club and this “10 year regional manager” named Gregg who, with their words and actions, have expressed zero value to me as a long time customer. Zero. He was more than happy to terminate my contract and keep my money. So I wish to give them a zero. But they get a one star because that’s the lowest...

I don’t understand how why they require my bank account for monthly membership fees. I already provided them my credit card but still they want my checking account information, I don’t feel comfortable handing that out and yet they won’t charge on credit card like so many other businesses in this world do. I even offer to give a second credit card, but they want my bank information. Very bizarre business practice.

Thank you for your response. There is a MAJOR difference between giving you a check and giving you my banking account information. The check has a predesignated amount that i sign for you to receive. But when you register my checking account, I am opening a possibility for you to take out more than the monthly fee. If you want customers to use checking account for fee payment then provide us with online portal where i can login to create automated payments on a monthly basis. this is a win win for you and me as u get your monthly debit withdrawal and i get reassurance that you will not withdraw more than you are supposed to. i cant believe i have to explain the...

I love this gym. The staff is so friendly and the manager Francesco does an amazing job keeping everything clean and organized. The added weight equipment for dead lifts and squats on the free standing stations is amazing… the landmine all of it. He just told me they were putting turf in also which is amazing. Me and my friends found this place after we all decided (we all train to out of an mma gym down the road) when our coach told us to add strength and conditioning to our routines, as they don’t offer that there. With a black card membership you can bring a friend and really isn’t that much, however most of us have just signed up and meet there and push each other. We are used to group classes so it’s nice to be able to train with a friend that will keep pushing you on your down days. I couldn’t ask for more out of this place. This already is but will continue to be one of the best gyms in the entire area with these features. Not everyone offers Everything. Well here we are. Welcome to Planet Fitness East...
