Not #Green Single Use plastics are being phased back in rather then pay students competitive wages that reflect the increased costs to dine (30% YoY inflation) REHS managers also aren't using the wash facilities they are instead dumping PFAS (forever toxins) into a landfill and paying the difference in wages to clean reusable plates and silverware to the landfill for the infinite loss of use of the land rather then...going green? Also the refusal to raise wages to meet minimum wage started in 2019, cash options to purchase wilfully discriminate against equal use and enjoyment. If you want to purchase a single meal you have to be approved by a bank to have credit for it. Because the managers refuse to hire enough staff to perform cash handling for the irregular volume of students despite having built the dining areas for that purpose (to have expedited swipe to pass lane and a pay as you go lane and the larger halls have 4 turnstiles for these purposes. However Case and South neighborhood were not built this way and only have 3 total access points so South Case entry way always has congestion due to improper IPF designing. And REHS refuses to provide services per Uni policy to avoid paying living wages for students (12k for 9 mos lease required to pay all upfront despite MI state law requiring up front payment is capped at 1.5x monthly rent) this is exempted for dorm halls so they can collect the years budget at once and provide services continuously throughout the year* beware, they are abusing legal loop holes to "legally discriminate disproportionately against minority and POC who are disadvantaged" and are forcing them into full time studies with their flat rate tuition Upcharging federal aid dollars to backfill their deficit because they cant somehow budget despite the exemption to make it...
Read moreThis place isn’t terrible given the fact that there’s a dinning hall, however the dining hall runs out of food quite often. There has been dried vomit pumpkin like substance outside of the entrance to the hall for a few weeks now and there was a puddle of vomit at the end of my floor for 6 days before it was cleaned up. There’s really only dining hall, Spartys, and dorm rooms in Case. Would earn another star if the elevators worked, however so far every week of the fall semester at least one if not both elevators of North Case have been broken down. Seems like this place...
Read moreMediocre dorm. It was great that rooms shared a Jack and Jill bathroom BUT YOU CAN’T LOCK IT FROM THE INSIDE. Thankfully I was here with family for an event so I wasn’t rooming with strangers.
The room itself was a standard low tier space. The furniture was basic but useful. I couldn’t imagine where you could put a TV. The beds were standard. The window was obviously worn down and there wasn’t AC.
The cafe is connected to the dorm which is great but the food was obviously made en mass. It was plentiful but again, mediocre.
Overall it was fine...
