My wife and I were driving home after a nice complimentary breakfast at the Residence Inn East Rutherford. We saw the Farmers Market and thought it would be a good idea to stop and pick up some produce. It was early in the morning on a Saturday we were surprised at the large number of cars in the parking lot. We did find a parking spot and went into the market. There were so many people shopping there; once we saw the prices and the quality of the produce we were no longer surprised that so many people were up early and shopping at the Farmers Market. We bought the freshest kale, leeks, apples and some other things. I was planning to go to NYC to watch a football game and thought I should buy some fresh blue berries to munch on while I watched the game between the Columbia Lions and the Georgetown Hoyas. We completed our produce shopping satisfied that our purchases were of the best quality at a fair price. We will be returning to the 17 Farmers Market soon. Well the Columbia Lions suffered a loss to the Hoyas, but I was ok with it, eating the freshest blue berries lessened the pain of the loss. If you are in East Rutherford you should make it a point to visit the 17 Farmers Market to pick up some fresh produce at a fair price. The 17 Farmers market over these past 3 years remains a great place to buy fruits and vegetables. The quality of the produce continues to be great and prices are the best in the NYC...
Read moreEverything imaginable, very fresh and most of the items are reasonably priced. I am so surprised at how they consistently are able to get fruits and vegetables that are not in season and sell them for such reasonable prices. I noticed quail eggs and a few new cheeses to sample as well. Came mid day and was delighted to find the bread bins not only full but the bread was as soft as if it had just come out of the oven. They have a section for veggies and fruits that are going to go bad soon and I picked up a cauliflower, plantains and ginger for next to nothing. Got to love that section for stretching your food budget further. They are even going the extra mile to stack up boxes at the exit so you can pack and carry yr food away instead of having to pay for yet another bag. ...

I'm sure if I look hard enough I would have found some kind of bug crawling around somewhere because this place has to produce them. With all the open produce around there is bugs living somewhere and I did not want to find them. I'm not a bug phobic person however with food like this around at night I'm sure everything does not get covered even if they do get covered bugs have a way of getting under things and calling on the fruit and vegetables and what have you so I'm just saying that I would rather spend the extra money and go to a ShopRite some other market store. I did not get the warm and fuzzies from this...
