My wife and I were driving home after a nice complimentary breakfast at the Residence Inn East Rutherford. We saw the Farmers Market and thought it would be a good idea to stop and pick up some produce. It was early in the morning on a Saturday we were surprised at the large number of cars in the parking lot. We did find a parking spot and went into the market. There were so many people shopping there; once we saw the prices and the quality of the produce we were no longer surprised that so many people were up early and shopping at the Farmers Market. We bought the freshest kale, leeks, apples and some other things. I was planning to go to NYC to watch a football game and thought I should buy some fresh blue berries to munch on while I watched the game between the Columbia Lions and the Georgetown Hoyas. We completed our produce shopping satisfied that our purchases were of the best quality at a fair price. We will be returning to the 17 Farmers Market soon. Well the Columbia Lions suffered a loss to the Hoyas, but I was ok with it, eating the freshest blue berries lessened the pain of the loss. If you are in East Rutherford you should make it a point to visit the 17 Farmers Market to pick up some fresh produce at a fair price. The 17 Farmers market over these past 3 years remains a great place to buy fruits and vegetables. The quality of the produce continues to be great and prices are the best in the NYC metropolitan area.

This farmer's market is convenient because it's next door to BJ's Wholesale Club. There's plenty of parking, the prices are great. However the store can be a bit of a drag with nikel and diming customers. A sign was posted that the store will be charging $0.10 for the plastic "produce" bags. The ginger is always wet, which is gross. It's usually always busy, checkout is pretty fast. Other than that, it's an okay market. Tip: Carefully check your produce for mold.

What a gem this place is. Been coming here for years and it never fails. The prices are always so cheap compared to other supermarkets or bodegas. They have a large selection of fruits and vegetables and spices at super cheap prices. You can fill up a whole cart for maybe $100. In THIS economy?! That's super cheap. Parking is available, the ladies at the register are faster than a double parking ticket in Hoboken. Stop by and make this place your go to!

Everything imaginable, very fresh and most of the items are reasonably priced. I am so surprised at how they consistently are able to get fruits and vegetables that are not in season and sell them for such reasonable prices. I noticed quail eggs and a few new cheeses to sample as well. Came mid day and was delighted to find the bread bins not only full but the bread was as soft as if it had just come out of the oven. They have a section for veggies and fruits that are going to go bad soon and I picked up a cauliflower, plantains and ginger for next to nothing. Got to love that section for stretching your food budget further. They are even going the extra mile to stack up boxes at the exit so you can pack and carry yr food away instead of having to pay for yet another bag. ...

So, to be perfectly honest with you I would rather spend the extra money and go a supermarket then go to a place like this again. I'm sure if I look hard enough I would have found some kind of bug crawling around somewhere because this place has to produce them. With all the open produce around there is bugs living somewhere and I did not want to find them. I'm not a bug phobic person however with food like this around at night I'm sure everything does not get covered even if they do get covered bugs have a way of getting under things and calling on the fruit and vegetables and what have you so I'm just saying that I would rather spend the extra money and go to a ShopRite some other market store. I did not get the warm and fuzzies from this...
