The good. The food & drinks are great. The atmosphere is awesome whether you’re looking to watch a game or talk to the people around you. The entire staff is nice and polite and attentive and get the orders right. Except for one person.
The bad. The “lady” behind the bar. She is just a nasty person. She’s rude, condescending, dismissive and unpleasant to her coworkers and to the customers. She doesn’t hide it and she’s not shy about it. It’s not endearing. It’s not funny. She does it in front of of the family that runs the place and I am in awe each time we go there that this behavior is tolerated and allowed to continue. I finally had enough when she seemed to obsess over the mistake of a waiter and belittled him in front of customers and coworkers. Then she set her sights on a customer that she obviously doesn’t care for as she kept making nasty remarks in his direction for him to hear and talking about him loudly to coworkers and even other customers. Why does management and ownership allow this?
I enjoy sitting at that bar to have pizza with family & friends, but as long as she is there, I’ll have to find a new place to go. Enough is enough with...
Read moreAs a newfound lover of New Jersey bar pies, I've been on a mission to uncover the best spots--and New Park Tavern is undoubtedly among them. Though I've visited before, today felt like the perfect opportunity to swing by with the wife for some brews and a pizza fix.
Stepping into New Park Tavern is like taking a step back in time, where the bar takes center stage and the atmosphere oozes old-school charm. We kicked off our afternoon with a couple of crisp Stellas, perfectly paired with two small pies: one white and one topped with sausage, onions, and peppers. Both pizzas were a revelation--just a touch thicker than your typical bar pie, yet retaining that perfect crispness that makes every bite a delight.
Despite being a bit understaffed for a bustling Saturday afternoon, the wait staff handled things with grace and efficiency, ensuring we were well taken care of. All in all, it was an experience that cemented this spot as a go-to. Delicious food, great vibes, and that timeless tavern feel? Count me in. I'll...
Read moreI recently bought a house nearby and decided to try this place so I invited my best friend for drinks and dinner. When we got there there was no tables so we Sat at the bar. Had to request a menu to a server since the bartender wasnt acknowleging us. Food was kind of salted but the beers were great. The problem and the reason I won't return to this place is the following. We ordered the drinks and the bartender (older lady) said we couldn't open a tab and we had to pay right away which was no problem. But then we kept observing the other people at the.bar and they were allowed to have an open tab She even ask a lady next to us if she wanted to pay now or open tab. Mind me and my friend were the 2 only latin looking people at the bar. Therefore we felt discriminated. The irony is we can afford to pay drinks for the whole bar but were treated like we were going to steal a couple of beers. SMH. Now we know this is not the place to go if you want to be treated with equality....
