Edit - they’ve lost my 5 star rating. Terrible experience. We showed up at 9pm, 2 hours until they closed. Were told there were only a few people ahead of us. We put our names down and gave them our phone number and walked around Rutherford a bit, talked about how we might like one of the places that we passed but we figured we would receive a call from Eros any minute to get seated. Around 10:00 we ask again, and are told that we’re basically next up and it shouldn’t be long, so we go across the street for a beer. 10:20 we ask again and are told we’re the last on the list but considering they close at 11 it’s not likely we’ll be seated. We wasted the whole evening waiting and gave up eating at other places to eat here because they said we would be able to get seated when we showed up 2 hours before closing. Will never trust their hostess again. What an awful way to ruin someone’s evening. It wasn’t first time seeing an old friend in a long time and we had to go home disappointed. Will always choose an alternative over Eros if available in the future.
Old review a Nice servers, pleasant atmosphere, good food. I enjoy the music they...
Read moreI stopped by Eros cafe at around 8pm today with two of my friends, and from the moment I entered I wasn’t welcomed, I was expected with complete rudeness by the manager(a fairly tall guy black hair with glasses). We sat we ordered food, and my friends pasta with seafood was not cooked at all, so we gave the waitress the plate back and told her what was the issue, she was very kind, after a while the same rude manager comes with the plate in his hand so confronting instead of asking kindly, anyways when the time came and I left first leaving the cash money by the table the boss can check the cameras(my friends hand it to the waitress as I had left) and the manager was waiting outside, I felt so harassed, I feel very bad for the boss of this business, hiring a rude and you can see violent person is not the smart thing to do!! Waiting outside saying he is waiting there to make sure I pay?? When I had paid prior to leaving, by leaving the money with the waitress already. The worst experience ever! I never in my life thought a guy can treat a...
Read moreI grew up in Lyndhurst & moved to a small town in NC. So when i come "home" i want to eat food i cant get down there. I dont want to go to a chain or fast food restaurant. My sis suggested Eros Cafe & i was game. Forgive my spelling in advance. We sampled souvlaki, spanicopita, French onion soup, moussaka, lamb gyro that came with Greek fries (shoestring with some orwgano sprinkled on it), lemon potatoes (quartered & roasted with fresh lemon flavor), & some other yummy dishes. At the end of the meal they served a little slice of fresh sweet watermelon. Some of the food we ordered we took home for dinner & we couldnt finish our lunch so he boxes that up too. Our waiter was great at explaining the menu, food was the right temperature (hot), had a lot of flavor, and a cozy atmosphere for a 1st date (I went with my sister). Thwy have a small parking lot, so parking is a challenge, but hey its north Jersey space is limited every where. Will definitely come back thw next...
