If I could rate this Staples a -5 , I would. I had my iPhone screen replaced there a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't planning on doing anything more than buying an ink cartridge when I went into this store but the girl I spoke to about the ink saw my phone's cracked screen & convinced me to get it fixed. She said it would be really quick & simple. So I paid & then I waited. & waited, & waited. I waited & watched while she struggled to make replace my screen. I could tell they were having problems so I said they could just put my old screen back on because I really had to go. I'd originally said I didn't want to replace the screen if it was going to take long but the girl kept assuring me it would be quick. Since my other screen was already destroyed from when she removed it I had no choice but to leave and come back later. So I came back a couple of hours later & got my phone... with the a white screen even though I wanted black. They couldn't get the black screen to work and the only other screen they had was white. So I accepted this and left because I'd been put in a position in which I didn't really have a choice if I didn't want to be inconvenienced any further. However, my phone seemed to be working at the time so I left with my newly fixed iPhone thinking that it was an annoying experience but worth it since my screen was fixed. However, the screen was NOT fixed. It was no longer was cracked, but the problems this poorly installed, piece-of-crap screen has caused in the last few weeks of my life are endless. The new screen has a mind of it's own, and also invisible fingers that tap it. Here are just two of the 100's of problems this new dysfunctional screen has caused. I'm on the phone with someone & my finger taps the end call button when I want to hang up, but nothing happens because my screen doesn't work. What does happen is that the person I didn't just hang up on is now listening to me speak for the next 10 minutes even though I though I ended the call. Here's another one. I tried to send a text to my boss but the letters on my keyboard started going crazy pushing themselves & replied to her with an automatically spell-checked "FU" message even though I was trying only to type " I'm on my way now". That almost got me fired by the way. Here's another one... I just picked up my phone to look at the time at 3am since I couldn't sleep & my text screen was still open from earlier when I texted my mother goodnight. The letter "r" was repeatedly being entered into the text box without my finger tapping it until there were 40 lines of rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr's input. Then the text magically sent itself as I watched, fingers not touching the screen. My mother freaked out since her phone was dinging over and over again at 3 in the morning with 50 lines of a text from her daughter with just the letter r typed over and over again a thousand times. She thought I was on drugs. These problems aren't actually aren't the worst though. The worst part is that I called the Staples on route 17 north in East Rutherford, where I got my screen "fixed" and they said they don't have anymore screens for my version of the iPhone and I'd have to send it out and not have a phone for a week. My work phone, my calendar, everything I use daily to keep my life together gone for an entire week. Then, when I asked if they could order a screen for my phone and have it delivered to their store they said I could try calling another Staples. Thanks for nothing. I want my money back and I also want a time machine so that I can go back and drive right past you and go to Office Depot instead where I would've gotten an ink cartridge and still had a cracked phone screen that worked better than the new one you installed on my phone. Thanks also for not helping me find a better solution than to "go somewhere else to get it fixed" or just go without a phone for a week because you...
Read moreIm not one to even waste my time writing reviews, however when ever I go to The staples on Rt17 North in E Rutherford I never have a good customer service experience. I've worked in retail over 7 years so I know what to expect as a customer walking into a store. For starters, I have never been greeted going into this store nor have I EVER been asked if I needed help... which the reason for this would most likely be because of that fact that there are NEVER any sales associates on the floor ! I was looking to buy a computer chair and found one for the listen price of $59.99. The tag connected tot he chair I wanted also said the same price. When I approached the counter and cashier I said a friendly "Hello." The woman behind the counter did not even acknowledge my greeting. Instead she asked me if I could read her the skew # on the box so she wouldn't have to walk around the counter and scan the bar code herself....If that's not lazy, I have no idea what is. She proceeded to tell me that the chair price was $89.99 and after tax it would be just under $100. From where the register is, you can see the sign for the sale price of the chair and it CLEARLY said $59.99. I explained this to the woman and she proceeded to ask some one in her walky talky for a price check. The person over the walky talky must have also said the price of the chair was again $89.99. I was really confused because the exact chair I wanted had an attached ticket price of $59.99. Which I explained to this woman. She responded with, "It might be a mail in rebate, I think." I responded with, "You think? you don't even know your own inventory or merchandise promotions?" I proceeded to tell the woman I didn't want it any more and walked out of the store. The ONLY reason why I rated two stars is because the store was relatively clean. But who cares about a clean store if the customer service sucks ? The customer always comes first, in any type of retail business. If you have no customers, you have no business, and I wont be going back to...
Read moreJorge, the manager at the print shop made us feel really uncomfortable. I came as a customer asking for baby shower invitations to be printed, I had my template and actual size of the image ready for printing just needed 50 copies. I asked for a sample to be printed and he prints me a cut off image on a standard paper. I wanted to make sure the actual cards do not get cut off in the invitation and diaper raffle card. I paid for this template and want it in its true size which shouldn’t have been a big deal. Jorge begins to dismiss my request and says “oh this is just a diaper raffle people will throw it out anyway”. That is not the principle to follow, I am paying for a service so of course I’d want the full image shown. I then saw him shrinking my entire image to fit in the screen and I said no please don’t shrink it I need it to fit to screen and all borders in it’s true size 3.5x2…. he says well again the slight cut should not be a big deal as people will “throw it out”. I left the store very frustrated because people like Jorge fail to deliver and dismiss paying customers. For that I could just print a bunch of the invites in bulk at a standard printer and cut them myself. I don’t understand how Staples provides these services but fails to complete people’s request, and in addition makes dismissive and arrogant comments to customers who are willing to pay. I don’t think these people here care to satisfy their customers they’re just on the clock making a sloppy job and any inconvenience they huff and puff. Do not trust this Staples especially the manager Jorge if you want professional invitations, cards, business cards done. He will just tell you it’s no big deal people throw...
