I typically do not order from this place, but, my husband wanted the General Taos Chicken with noodles in a bowl. I have ordered from here before and have never been asked if I "wanted vegetables and broth with it". I told the girl I spoke to over the phone that, "No, I don't want broth, I just want General Taos chicken in a bowl with noodles"... I proceeded to explain, "the bowl that you have an option with fried rice or noodles". That should have rang a bell to her, but the whole new staff there doesn't seem to really know the menu. So, we get home, and it's Ramen soup with General Taos Chicken. Gross. I have never heard of that with soup. Anyway, i called them. Yes, it was 9pm, (so yes, I was well aware it was after closing. I WAS NOT expecting a quick fix right then and now, but, I was calling to atleast get a fix for another time, especially since this wasnt our first, or fifth, time there. Its been more.) Anyway, whoever picked up the phone sounded cocky, might have been the owner. That man told me, "Well we have you down for Ramen." He then asked me, "well did you order online or in person?" (Like that should even make a significantdifference) I told him, over the phone to a live person. " I then proceeded to explain to him that I didnt order Ramen or soup, and our order was wrong. Everytime we ordered, it was over the phone, with a very competent woman." He proceeded to tell me that that woman was not there" I told him, " It doesnt matter where she is, my order is still wrong." He said,"There are two types of noodles, Ramen and LoMein" I told him that I wasnt given those options during the phone call, and he said, "Well, I'm sorry there's nothing we can do, and we are closed now." No professionalism or attempt to "fix" the issue. I've been in this establishment before and have heard the owner being very loud and cocky speaking about personal lawsuits and other issues that I find very disturbing to be speaking about in front of costumers and people you don't personally know about some recipe for General Taos Chicken that he bought the rights to.
The staff is nice; the owner- could use a few etiquette courses. Won't be going back. Plus, the food is...
Read moreI was looking for a place to grab lunch around the area and here, I decided to try this place out.
The restaurant doesn’t have its own parking lot, so be prepared to look for street parking. The door entrance is not wheelchair accessible because of the few steps at the entrance. We have a stroller with us, which requires some work to get inside. This place isn’t big, but able to fit maybe about 10 tables. The server was pretty nice and friendly. My daughter kept whispering to me that she looks like Mirabel from Disney Encanto. Hahaa.
Let’s talk about the food now. Honestly, only worth my one time try. Food LOOKS good but taste uhhh nothing special. Szechuan wonton vs Shanghai wonton…I choose Shanghai wonton but it ain’t yummy enough for me to eat that again. The wonton skin isn’t smooth and silky enough. Pork belly bun vs Short rib bun…definitely the pork belly bun. Now this would be something I wouldn’t mind ordering again. That pork belly bun was not like other places, one big slice of pork belly. This place actually have that pork belly shredded and pieces. The sauce of that pork belly bun was pretty flavoring too. The short rib bun, on the other hand, was really uhhh. The short rib was really dry and tasteless. Next, the Short rib french onion bowl with ramen was nothing special. The short rib in that order was a good portion, but not tender enough. The soup base was not authentic enough. Now with the kids meal chicken cutlet bowl. The chicken cutlet was thin and hard! My husband and I needed extra time to bite and chew that up, nevermind my 5yo. I just gave her the lo mein, which isn’t really lo mein like Chinese restaurants but actually stir fried udon. And yes again, so so. No where near a good stir fried udon I have eaten before.
Overall, only worth trying out of all those is the pork belly...
Read moreI have ordered from here before and coworkers in my office. Today is the honest worst customer service I’ve had from this place. As you can see from the photo I had a promised time of 11:31 - which I was notified was pushed to 11:45. No problem. I had to call 2 times because it was already 12:20 with no food and the receptionist kept saying 10 minutes or any minute it will be there. After my food arrives VERY late as I work on a SCHEDULED lunch I see they had made an error on my order. Never is a 2-step bowl put together with the miso soup and other contents. (Wasn’t even what I ordered with it didn’t even bring my lo mein but whatever) THEY ALWAYS PACKAGE IT SEPARATELY SO CLEARLY IT WAS AN ERROR. When I called to have this corrected the woman on the phone was very unapologetic and only said they would send another out. I asked just for an ETA when it would come as I had already waited past my promised time. And the lady just sighed telling me “well we have three orders to go out so well send it out with one of the orders” I again tried to get a general time and said “you can’t give just an estimated time” and she became frustrated and sighed again and said “they are busy and the driver still has to make these promised deliveries and they’ll have it sent it out when the driver has time” I have her attitude right back and told her she could have a kinder service attitude considering they messed up my order after they were already late, all I was asking was a general time. Wont even be ordering again and I didn’t ask for a manager because it wasn’t even worth it. They have made a mistake before and were very kind and corrected it, not sure if today was a bad day for the lady but she caught the wrong one to catch an...
