Fashion Avenue has been a source of great clothing for me over many years. I think it is the best women’s consignment shop in the Twin Cities. Everything in the store is consignment, several things appear to have never been worn as they still have original sales tags on them.
They only accept items in excellent condition. Every garment item is clean and looks ready to wear. I find many special occasion dresses, shoes, and purses here – and have bought more than one coat or jacket that I absolutely love.
Name brands that discerning shoppers look for are consistently here, like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Neiman Marcus, Aknvas, Dior, and Gucci. I also like the brand Soft Surroundings. The owner/buyer has exceptional taste and amazing connections across to get fabulous pieces and offer fair prices. The clothing selection is what draws me in, but I’ve also found just the belt and sandals. great handbags and other accessories. A few men’s items are usually there.
This is a great place to shop for one-of-a-kind, better-than-average clothing. The lighting is good for seeing true colors; sometimes I talk my potential purchase to the big front windows where natural daylight helps me make good color matches. They do provide changing rooms. All sales are final – which is important to know when making an “iffy” choice.
I like supporting this consignment store and have purchased a gift card multiple times to share the experience with others. Parking can be challenging. Its location is wonderful – nice and central. The staff is also helpful...
Read moreI’ve contemplated on writing a review about this location and granted I felt the experience should be shared in a politely and respectfully. As they do keep the shop clean and things looked to be kept organized. My experience to consign some of my luxury jewelry was not a great experience and it was pretty insulting. I was told one of my items looked fake when in fact it was a vintage Chanel piece. I felt very insulted as I know what I brought in are not fake. I was asked a variety of questions and granted maybe that is standard as this is the first time I’ve done a consignment at this location. I felt I was treated differently and not being Caucasian. I can tell from experience and even a friend of mine I’ve talked to about this experience said that it sounded like they thought these items where “ Hot items” as she owned a jewelry store for years with her husband. After I told her my story as she thought about coming to this establishment to see if she would buy anything from here, she decided not to. She recommended to me to sell on The Real Real as she sold some of her items there, which my items were accepted with no issues. I will not return to this establishment or give business to them. I know I’m one person and I know others who love luxury items. I just felt it was important to share for other people...
Read moreMy experience consigning here was terrible. In February I brought in several items including Alaia snakeskin sandals and new with tags the row cotton black trousers which were rejected ( row pants specifically for not being in season meanwhile the pants were from a row spring collection) with the explanation they were only buying spring. In March i saw them do a story on a new item that was a full length wool burberry coat which was clearly not a spring item. Service was cold and i felt like they didn’t trust the authenticity of my items. None of the items they kept were featured on their instagram including a mint dvf wrap dress that would have been great to post on given target’s spring dvf collaboration and unsurprisingly none of the five items they consigned sold. I’ve purchased luxury clothing and accessories for over 25 years and know what discerning luxury resale/vintage stores consist of and this place is not it. I also noticed an owner being very friendly and hugging another client/customer yet I received very cold service. lol to the reviewer who thinks this is the best consignment store she’s ever been to. If you enjoy a shop filled with tory burch and a bunch of other mediocre mid tier brands mixed in with a discolored Chanel bag and skeptical dismissive energy from employees this...
