I will ever return here medical care!!! I had surgery done in the ambulatory pavilion yesterday. This is my story: My revision Surgery is done. I had a “stump tuck” aka skin removal and a TMR. I have to say it was the worst care I have ever gotten in my life. I will never be returning to OU in Edmond Oklahoma for care again.Oh hell no!! This is how it went yall and I’m not even playing!! Started with as I was being taken back to my room when I first got there, the nurse taking me back asked me if we could stop and me stand up for a weight.. mind you I’m in my wheelchair and my prosthetic isn’t on. My hospital bed was broken and they almost dumped me in the floor, and put me back into the broke bed after surgery… I got out of surgery, I didn’t get a nerve block so I woke up in pain and was in recovery and they had one nurse back there by herself. My 02 starts kept dropping. I was hot to the point I was sweating. I got back to the room I was in before surgery, they pretty much had my discharge papers waiting for me. They had some graham crackers and a sprite for me since they wanted me to eat before they gave me more meds. They prescribed me Percocet (which makes me itchy and I have to take it with Benadryl. The nurse looks at me says I don’t have any Benadryl to give you with it. I was like can you call someone and get an order for it ?? So they give me my discharge papers, and tell me to let them know I am dressed. so I’m still sitting there nibbling on my graham crackers and a nurse or someone walks in and asks my hubs if he wants to go pull the truck around. My husband is like umm I will when she gets dressed, mind you I’m still sitting there in my hospital gown!! She’s like I’ll get you a wheelchair. My hubs points to my wheelchair in the corner and says we have ours… So she leaves… A few mins later I’m in the middle of getting dressed and some one comes in and asks if I’m ready to go. Sees I’m in the middle of dressing and is like I’ll be back. So I’m in the middle of trying to get my damn undies and shorts on and another person comes in with a wheelchair!! My hubs is like we have our own wheelchair… Then he had to ask her to help me get my pants on as she stood there and watched me struggling to get them on …. I felt like I was being thrown out the door after having a 3-4 hour surgery !! I was so rushed that I didn’t even get a sock and shoe on my good foot!! The nurse went across the room to get my husband’s bag so we could leave. But i realized as we are driving home that it was 4:30 on Friday they were pushing me out so they could go home. This procedure cost 100k and that’s how I...
Read moreMy 19 yr old daughter passed out in class at UCO and hit her head hard enough to cut. Campus police and an ambulance rushed her to ER. However no head ct scan only blood drawn. Sent her back to campus saying, it was maybe low blood sugar. Like most freshman she was nervous, today 2 days later she calls me crying feeling nauseous and that her neck hurt. I told her to call the ER and speak to a nurse. As I am in Tulsa, I was not there to advocate for her. I asked her what the nurse said, and she said that the nurse said neck pain was normal and had a really bad attitude and she doesn't feel comfortable going back to that er. So I called the nurse to see what was going on, attitude again, plus stated that she told my daughter that if she felt it was an emergency to return? Also told me that because my daughter is 19, she cannot give me any information. My daughter is now on her way to Integris. There is a reason this hospital has a 1 star. If you have a student that is young and vulnerable, please do not send them to THIS ER!!! Did I mention also that my daughter was rushed by ambulance from UCO after blacking out and hitting her head hard, that only a blood test was done!!! and that her parents were not made aware of any of this until my daughter called us telling us that she was being discharged!!!!! No doubt I will be receiving all the bills, for this unacceptable service, but I am thinking what for?? when she called as instructed with other symptoms 2 days later , she was not treated with any respect or kindness!! So now another set of medical bills from Integris. Is this the world we live in now! Complete madness, and no responsibility. In England she would have been kept in overnight for...
Read moreI've had 4 personal experiences with OU Health, and this latest, and last, experience has been the worst of all. My first experience was for an EKG many years ago. I have no complaints about that visit. My second experience was last year for an OBGYN visit. I found the OBGYN to be unsympathetic and dismissive. I had several questions that I wanted to ask her. She never gave me the opportunity. I left feeling unheard. She sent me to OU Edmond for a series of tests. The first test cost me $1,500.00 out of pocket after insurance. I did not do any of the other tests or the follow up visit with the OBGYN. My most recent visit to OU Edmond was last week for an EKG. After a week of phone calls and getting the run around and being passed from one person to another to another, they appear to have lost my EKG. I still do not have the results, and the most recent round of phone calls show it not attached to my file (the opposite of what we were told last week when they said they had it, but it hadn't been read by the cariologist). Frankly, I am astounded that an institution that is supposed to be in the business of helping people has been so lackadaisical in their record keeping and follow through with patient health. I have also not been impressed with the technicians I've had for the EKG and the previous test last fall at OU Edmond. In both cases, the technicians I was given had to ask other technicians for help with the machines. Needless to say, with all the other hospitals in the area, I will not be using OU again for any medical needs. I am simply mind blown by their lack of care and the irresponsibility in...
