First I'll start with The Good: Some of the Hot Yoga teacher are great and most of the staff are friendly and cordial. You can always find free parking in the area. The Bad: I had put my membership on hold as I wasn't able to take any classes for a while. And even though there is a constant barrage of messages and emails sent to you when you are a member, not a courtesy notification that they were about to charge my card again. As soon as I found out I asked them to consider to refunding the charge for classes that I can't use. Here in lies the crux; behind the veneer of niceness is a big corporation, with watertight contracts, upper management and impersonal rules to be followed. They are like the big fitness centres cashing in on fees from people that are not attending classes. Another point is; whilst they offer a lot of classes if you like a certain style of yoga the schedule is actually quite limited.
Once again some really nice people work here, but , if you are interested in hot yoga in the South Bay Area they're a way better options. There are several small studios that are way more personal and intimate (and potentially more reasonable on a human to human level) if you like a sausage factory style fitness corporation than Hot 8 is...
Read moreSolid 5/5 for me! Hadn’t practiced or teached in over 5 years before Covid came through yet this place felt like home. Very friendly staff, warm welcoming vibes and clean studio with. o weird smells even though at 105F. Super cool art as you walk in and free lockers! They had a great first timers special for $35 which I’d highly recommend to take advantage of. The instructor for the Power Yoga was a spiritual sage, life coach and yoga teacher all in one. Class style was a strong mix of the Bikram 26 and 2 with some flow. My only gripe… the instructor did not check in to see if I had an injury before pushing so hard for those forward bends. I’m probably guilty of this too but her insistence on calling people out was a little off. IMO Meant to have a debrief as a courtesy but I was trying to regain my soul to body connection after that extremely intense, wildly fun and enjoyable experience. Caution on the free lockers as they do jam and mine required a separate key to reopen. All my minor gripes aside I’m super glad I found this place that reignites my love for Hot Yoga. Thanks Hot 8 Yoga for all you...
Read moreGreat place for a sweaty Work Out. Clean locker rooms, shower space, & cubby hole (lobby area) - if you’re looking for a place to advance or deepen your Yoga Practice this is not the place. The instructors are very kind and friendly , although it seems like corporate has given/taught them a set sequence. I’ve spent 90 minutes of my Ashtanga primary series self practice doing more than 100 postures. The sequence here are all the same, wasting 45 mins of class doing the same flow adding a change here and there. I’ve counted out of my 60 min there’s only about 30 different postures. Missing out on back bending and much more. Aside from the loud music and the overtalking from the instructors. This is a corporate chain created for people who knows nothing about yoga to come and get a good sweat from the overly heated hot room. If you have the correct breathing, creating internal heat there’s no need for the rooms to be this hot. I do enjoy the experience,...
