Absolutely Appaling rooms. We decided to book this hotel with location in mind. My wife and sister in law were attending the Chris Brown concert at Sofi Stadium. I'll start with the positives of the rooms. My mother in law booked a suite so it was 2 bedroom 2 bath with a small living space in between the rooms. It had 1 king bed on the main room and 2 smaller queen beds in the other room. The shower pressure was absolutely amazing...very strong and left you feeling clean. Now the negatives. When we entered the room the smell of smoke was so prominent we had to question wether this was truly a non smoking room. The carpet all over the suite was the most filthy carpet I've ever experienced. I'm glad I had my sandals because my daughter only wore her socks indoors and after a few minutes of walking around they became black as if she was waking outside on the asphalt. Overall, based on the reviews and our first hand knowledge of staying here, they need to rip out all carpets for all rooms and just start over. See pictures. We had no body wash in the dispensers in the shower, we ran out of clean towels and I requested the towels on Saturday afternoon at around 5 pm, which the front desk stated they would send them as soon as possible. At midnight I called again requesting the towels, and the midnight shift had taken over and the lady on the phone proceeded to blame the earlier shift for not doing their job, I stated I don't care about excuses, I just need towels so we can shower and get ready for checkout tomorrow. The lady continued to be rude in her responses and continued to explain it was just her and wasn't sure if we would be able to get the towels. I stated once more what was needed and I didn't need any other response other than "they will try and bring them when they get a chance." I also stated I will be complaining to manager about this issue, and explained to her how filthy the carpets were for our stay. Her responses were sarcastic, non caring, and all she stated "that's fine, go ahead and complain." We did not get the towels until 2am when we opened the door and found them outside on the floor in a plastic bag. The next morning we decided to get ready early, but since we didn't get the towels until late at 2am 5 people needed to take showers the next day before checkout. When I called the front desk for later checkout, a lady stated there was no late checkout. I explained the issue we were having and we will try and checkout early but we needed extra time since they didn't provide the towels until the day of check-out. Lady at front desk stated 12 noon was the latest and would not offer any other time. As we were packing everything at 11:50am while I waited for everyone to finish packing so we can checkout, one of the cleaning ladies decided to open the door to our room, no knocking, no courtesy check, no calls, just open door directly and be surprised we were still inside room finishing our packing. I've never experienced that before. Usually the cleaning staff double check each room is empty by knocking a few times announcing themselves as housekeeping, and if we respond then they move on to next room. That absolutely infuriated me to see such horrible customer service. I'm the end I will never recommend this place again, my view on Hyatt has changed forever, and the fact they didn't clean the carpets before anyone stayed in this room tells me just how little they care of the health and well-being of my 3 year old daughter or other guests...
Read moreAvoid this place if possible - period. I have not had a worse experience in all my travels over my lifetime. I cannot believe a Hyatt property would be like this.
Upon check-in, we were notified that no one can help us with luggage. First time hearing that at a hotel, but ok as we were told there is parking space right beside the room. After parking, this is when it went south real quick. We were greeted with a huge pile of trash of rank and rotting food, garbage and other awful smelling things at foot of the stairs immediately at our doorstep. Attached are 2 photos. I thought something must have happened which slipped the hotel's attention so I entered the room and called the staff to clear the trash up. To my disbelief, they outright refused to do anything and said there is no cleaner available so I'll have to deal with it until one is available, despite me highlighting how gross it was and that flies were flying in from the garbage into my room - which was highly unsanitary and dangerous as I was traveling with an infant and a toddler.
To top that off, the carpets in the room were disgusting - my toddler walked barefoot for a minute and her foot turned completely black from whatever had been collecting on that carpet and uncleaned for God knows how long. Then, I tried the sofa bed to see if I could even spend one night in that room but when I sat on the sofa bed, it sunk to the floor - probably that sofa was older than I am...
Anyway, I asked the front desk to change my room but they refused that too, and mind you still refusing to clean up that disgusting and unhygienic trash. I had already paid a pretty penny so I called Hyatt head office to get it sorted - they called the hotel and the front desk skirted their call!!! However, that seems to have at least woken them up and they cleaned up the trash. I thought great, at least now I can maybe stay one night somehow and find another hotel the next morning, despite all the other issues.
Alas, once I went back to my room, I heard loud yelling and fighting right outside my room. This hotel was not worth the risk to my family and I left immediately, 4 hours after checking in. Never in my life have I checked out of a hotel the day of checking in.
I tried to get a hold of management over the next couple days but they ignored my calls, and Hyatt HQ seems to be trying to wash their hands off the matter as well, not doing anything about my complaints. In the meantime, I am out $250 for the pleasure of a pile of garbage, a dirty room, outdated and dysfunctional furniture, and potential risk to my family.
Thank you to this property and thank you to Hyatt. I'm better off with Bonvoy and Hilton properties. Hyatt loyalty is...
Read moreWe have been living out of hotels in the El Segundo area for about 60 days, and have been trying all of the ones with suites. With a budget of $182/night, this was the only one that promised a second bedroom for our son within the budget.
If everything about the hotel was perfect, I would probably give this place 4 stars, with one missing because the interior design just didn't seem well thought out. There was so much furniture in the living area. The couch wasn't positioned well to see the TV. The room had dark furniture, dark carpet and not a lot of window area. The whole experience induced claustrophobia.
The issue was everything was not perfect:
The first room we were assigned reeked of cigarette smoke. The property claims it is 100% non-smoking and they evict people who are smoking in the rooms.
The second room we were assigned smelled less smoky, but overtime got smokier. It seemed smoke from other rooms was coming in through the vent in the bathroom. It was a bit better if we left the fans running in both bathrooms to push air out.
There were always transients across the street, my guess is they are living in the hotel through project roomkey. The room two floors down from us clearly had someone living in it, and when she came out I nearly got high from the strong marijuana cloud coming from the room. Clearly the hotel is not enforcing it's non-smoking policy (probable cause for the previous issue)
Floors were dirty. Our socks turned black quickly
The common area with pool and BBQ were nice and sheltered from the road, but again ruined by people smoking out there.
HVAC was strange. Kept the room cool, but when set temperature was reached, fan stayed on, even when we set it to off on the thermostat. Was unable to sleep because of air blowing on me all night. Finally found the breaker and shut it off that way.
TRAINS! The room had double windows (not double panes), as our room directly overlooked the metro. Even then it was still noisy.
Breakfast is not the omelet bar mentioned in pictures and reviews. It consisted of fruit cocktail, powdered eggs, biscuit, gravy and bagels.
-TVs were old and small (32"). The room had a VCR. In 2021. The Hyatt place has 55" 4k TVs
Again, was very excited to stay here, but by far the worst of the hotels we stayed in within the same area and same budget: Residence Inn, Westdrift, Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt Place.
We were staying to escape the odors of a sewage spill in El Segundo, and honestly, I slept better at home in the sewage spill. If I had to do it again, not only would I have not paid to stay here, someone would have had to PAY ME!
The bed was reasonably comfortable,...
